31-40k Suggestions invited (first time building)

Yes both have identical gaming performance, the 5500 might even pull ahead of the i3 in some CPU intensive games like spider-man remastered or cyberpunk 2077.

31-40k Suggestions invited (first time building)

Ryzen 5 5500 is a better option, it's basically a rebadged Ryzen 5 3600 but from the 5000 series. It's gaming performance is similar to the i3 but it has an extra 2 cores, which can come in handy sometimes. It's around the same price as the i3 platform (cpu + mobo) as well...

    WTB Redmi Note 4/Note 5 Pro/5A under 2.5k

WTB either of these or any Snapdragon powered phone with decent custom rom support. Condition doesn't matter as long as it works, since I want to try the custom rom world.

51-70k Suggest improvements on my build

Why not consider the Ryzen 5 5500 + a cheap B450 motherboard? The 13100F, Ryzen 5 3600 and the 5500 are roughly the same in terms of performance, and the 5500 + B450 will also be cheaper than the Intel platform (total 15k for mobo + CPU). You could use the rest of the money for an RX 6700/6750...

    90K+ sff - raptor lake, 4080 ti

Have you considered the Loque Ghost S1 and NR200P max? I'd say that the S1 is a proper itx case, since it's actually small form factor. NR200P and H1 are just reshaped m-ATX cases, but they're still fine. Don't stress too much about the VRMs, if you're planning on mostly gaming, then anything...

51-70k Building pc for the first time.

Honestly, keep your CPU to something that's sufficient and crank your GPU to the highest you can afford. When paired with mid range GPUs, there'll be negligible difference between an i3 and Ryzen 5 in AAA titles, so getting a better GPU will make the most sense in the long run if you don't plan...

    21-30k PC for light programming

Used NUCs with i5 10500Ts go for 22k or so in the classifieds section as well, I think that's the best you can expect under 30k, if gaming is not a priority. UHD graphics have a little bit of grunt for gaming though. I'd definitely recommend upgrading to 32GB RAM.

    51-70k Gaming PC

You're still missing the point. I speak from experience, not from numbers. I've seen enough, from a 3700X paired with a cheap B450 to the i5 13500 with the same B760 DS3H. Those numbers are worst case scenarios anyway, I don't know what you're trying to state. I don't need to go to some YT...

    51-70k Gaming PC

Even VRMs don't matter all too much. There are way too many misconceptions fed by the internet on this and if VRM Mosfets are built like just any other electrical component, then 100 C and beyond for a while is not a big deal, but manufacturers restrict it to that threshold to ensure longer life...

    51-70k Gaming PC

OC, or more commonly known as XMP. 32GB can still fit in 4 slots, so going with 2x16GB or 4x8GB is based entirely on budget constraints. 2x16GB is a one time investment, whereas 2x8GB + 2x8GB allows for upgrade over time. DDR5 is still in its early stages, so 2 slots only is the best option now...

    51-70k Gaming PC

OP, I'm seeing lots of used 3070s at 20k on OLX and FB marketplace, even in this forum's classifieds section. 3060s go for 15k. That 5k extra makes a massive difference.

    51-70k Gaming PC

With DDR4, 2x16GB or 4x8GB makes no difference in stability or performance. It's only with DDR5 that instability occurs when all 4 slots are used, which can be mitigated after several PC reboots and RAM tuning.

PC Peripherals System won't boot when using RAM at full speed

This is where that phrase "Intel CPUs don't care about ram" sprung from. On AMD, the FCLK tuning was applied to the Infinity Fabric on the cache as well, which was why AMD insisted on a 1:1 ratio with DRAM frequency for optimum performance.

PC Peripherals System won't boot when using RAM at full speed

Silicon lottery is rare in today's CPUs. All mid range CPUs will have no problems with 3600 speeds, it's only when you play with the timings and subtimings that the IMC gets stressed with. XMP will work on single channel as well, you'll get a performance uplift depending on the workload with...

PC Peripherals System won't boot when using RAM at full speed

Return the RAM stick and get a lower clocked one or something at 3600 from G skill. There's nothing much you can do with a DIMM that does not clock upto its advertised speeds. If you want, you can manually try manually tuning the DRAM voltages and frequencies, but that's some needless headache...

10-15K Phone for pure multimedia usage and long battery life and fast charging. Minimal gaming. 5G not needed.

The only new SD phones under 20k are Moto G84 or Poco X5/X5 Pro. There aren't much SD powered phones even under 30k, it has something to do with Snapdragon's 5G modem monopoly I think. So you'll mostly find mediatek SoCs, which IMO are just as good as Snapdragon. Poco X5 is still good if you...

10-15K Phone for pure multimedia usage and long battery life and fast charging. Minimal gaming. 5G not needed.

Actually, between 10-15k, exynos would be you're best friend for battery life. Low to mid range exynos chips are not subject to whatever that plagues their flagship chips. My mother's 4 year old Samsung M20 still gives about 9-10 hrs of SOT on a full charge, primarily because the exynos chip...

    0-20k Patriot Memory DDR4 3200Mhz CL22 Desktop Memory 8GB

If you're motherboard supports DDR4 3200 and you don't do any gaming or CPU intensive tasks like code compilations or editing, then you can go ahead with it. Make sure that you're existing RAM stick in your pc is the same as the one you're going to buy. What's your full pc specs btw?

    51-70k cpu upgrade build review - AM5 + 7800x3d

Good to hear that you're system's working great. Thaiphoon burner would be the software to check, but I usually enter the part number that comes with the kit onto the manufatcurer's motherboard QVL (in their website) to identify the die. Your patriot kit is somehow not listed, but comparing...
