Normally u dont get a modchip separately. U can get ur ps2 modded by shop who does modding.or some dealers take ur ps2 send to the shop and take their cut.I dont know modding cost as their different for different models but i think <1000 .u should in the first place have bought modded ps2 it...

I used the toslink optical cable and there is improvement over analog but as gannu said that if optical output is used there is no need of dedicated soundcard Or dedicated soundcard digital output is superior to onboard optical output

Yes i agree with u .If u one high end graphic card ,console doesnt stand.But if u hav midrange graphic card then most/every games look better in xbox 360 then pc.I have xbox360 and pc and 9800GT.Most of the games looks better on xbox360 rather than pc.
