WTB Power Adaptor For My Phototherapy Unit

You can use a component forwarder(idk what to call them) like semikart (trusted, have used them before, genuine parts) to purchase it from mouser (also trusted, alongside digikey), arrived in ~10 days iirc. Here's one pricing for one variant of the power supply, after shipping charges +...

Help setting up Home Network with a Switch

After the router that's handing out DHCP leases and before the access point. If the switch is a simple L2 switch (most unmanaged switches are), your network should be fine. However, make sure the POE functionality is standards compliant, 802.3af/at for example, and not passive POE, which can...

how to access router admin page of jio fiber

If you can, use Airtel fiber. They have static ip as an addon even for the residential connections, routers can be put into dumb bridge mode (and use your own router), you can even use the generic xpon sfp modules and eliminate their router altogether (using proper vlan tag). In my experience...

WTB Cheapest possible graphics card, or rather a display adapter

Want to purchase a GPU, as cheap as possible (even gt 210 is fine, zotac is selling a refurbished one on Flipkart for 1.3k). This will be used as a troubleshooting GPU in case a GPU fails in any of my systems. Requirements Must be PCIe, any number of lanes/any gen Must have HDMI, good to have...

Anyone here bought PTM7950? Would like to know the best place to get it.

I don't think pump out is a problem with name branded decent thermal pastes. I applied NT-H1 when I installed the CPU, back in Nov 2022, and hasn't deteriorated since(probably), and provided better results than PTM. Before that I was using gelig gc extreme for ~3 years with my r5 2600 (2018-2021).

Anyone here bought PTM7950? Would like to know the best place to get it.

Applied the PTM today to my 13700k, on Corsair H100i Platinum SE, did not do any cleaning to keep the tests fair, room temperature steady at 28.3 degrees C, +- 0.2 C. Conclusion first, at least from the initial test, disappointing. Make sure you order extra, as it's rather easy to deform the...

Anyone here bought PTM7950? Would like to know the best place to get it.

Arrived today in anti-static packaging inside a cardboard box, along with applicator and accessories. Customs was 600 odd Rs. for a declared value of 13 usd. No spill or other quality issues, verified the dimensions, it is indeed 8cm square (and not chinese cm), will apply it over the weekend...

Airtel static IP is a scam?

You need to configure the static ip on your router, and not rely on their pppoe config (not sure how to do that in their router, but probably has options in the config page). They'll allocate a specific IP address just for you, and if you configure that in your router as static config, it won't...

Using Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries with APC Smart UPS

You're right. The only reason I chose "guide" is because this is more of guide than a review, and I don't know if there is a better sub forum for this, do suggest if there is one, I'll ask mods to move it there.

Using Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries with APC Smart UPS

1st update. The anderson connector arrived yesterday, but man the lugs are heavy duty af. My tools were almost not enough for a good crimp, had to use a lot of elbow grease, but it was done. Crimp looks solid enough, and finally connected the battery with a less sketchy connection. Will...

Using Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries with APC Smart UPS

Fair warning: messing around with mains voltage (that the UPS generates) or high discharge rate batteries can set things on fire if you're not careful enough, or even kill you. Do not attempt this if you are new to these things, better let someone experienced handle. Now that that's out of the...

Swans M10 Woofer Ramping Vibration and Noise

Could be AC hum. Probably a loose filter capacitor somewhere if that's the case. Download a spectrum analyser app (spectroid on Android for example) and see if there's a peak at 50hz(line freq) when you get this sound.

Do I need to unlock my Aadhaar biometrics?

Depends on the service provider I guess. When my father's phone was stolen last month, BSNL provided a replacement sim without aadhaar check, but they did require a report from police station. Thankfully that was the aadhaar sim, so when VI asked for biometrics for a replacement, he was able to...

WhatsApp backups to be counted in GDrive Storage use. Alternatives?

    1. Battery life impact is on the lower side, averaging 0.2% over a full day 2. You can still configure "once a day" from the syncthing app web gui. The app native ui doesn't expose the option(iirc), but from the web ui you can disable filesystem watcher and set a full scan period to only sync...

WhatsApp backups to be counted in GDrive Storage use. Alternatives?

I do it in case something happens to my phone that renders the data inaccessible. You're right that actual appdata is on /data/data/package-name... , which is inaccessible without root (AFAIK), but enough data is still on the internal storage that would let me restore it to a new phone (in...

WhatsApp backups to be counted in GDrive Storage use. Alternatives?

You can actually access Android/media/com.whatsapp/... on non rooted android (at least on my non rooted s23 running A14). I use syncthing to backup my entire internal storage to my NAS, and this directory is synced as well. The trick was to add the root folder path using web gui (inside...
