Only nokia can answer this Q, the firmwares are released in phases for each product code. There are ways to change the product code and update the firmware and revert the changes... but that means ur warranty is at stake. so please have it in mind.

Did u do a hard reset after the firmware update? i too had some other issues which got resolved by hard reset. Backup all ur data before hard reset.. u hv been warned.

I am facing some issues after updating to v40, previously when i want to connect to web on my phone, i usually go to internet option and start browsing (using default web browser abnd through opera mobile) and it asks for how to connect WiFi, GPRS etc... After the update, this doesnt work...

i would suggest first try ubuntu 9.10, if u feel the performance isnt good or sluggish then move on to Xubuntu (ubuntu + xfce) :D

Yes of course E7xxx and E8xxx are 64 bit architectures.. u can very well install 64 bit version

I had the very same problem with a gigabyte mobo, the installation would stop after the first reboot during installation. I had to RMA the mobo, faulty proccy carriage was to blame. Link

Just installed Virtualbox and Win xp inside Ubuntu linux... always wanted to try it and Virtualbox is just awesome.. :D I want to know if i need an antivirus while using Win XP inside VB? If so wats the choice of av? I dont want to waste resource inside VB.. and ya i use chrome for browsing...

You can also undervolt and underclock the semprons to bring down the power consumptions, but i dont think Atom can meet the performance of a sempron LE. If u are hell bent on lowering ur power consumption then go for Atom or else Sempron can give u a better, much better performance...
