RIG 1

Budget - 10k

Need - Cpu/mobo/ram/Hdd/Cabinet with smps in 10k.

I have no idea about budget rigs so couldnt think of anything..

Rig is required for billing purposes around 12 - 15 hours of continuous billing ONLY, No Movies and games, so should be HIGHLY stable.
RIG 2

Budget - 15k

Suggest a rig as above config for 15k Reqd. for the same above task.
Except for mild gaming and occasional movies.

Also a request for a good DOT MATRIX printer.. should be able to print pages of length of around 12 inches.
Plzz suggest the best one possible.[not sure about printer pricing so plzz post the prices too if possible].

TIA

is X2 240 better than 5600+ ???

Will i need a ddr3 ram for x2 240//??? because its AM3 socket..

2gb ddr2 for 1.3k??

i heard the prices had gone up..

240 is better than 5600+ you can use ddr2 ram with AM3 socket yes ram prices have gone up 2gb cost 1.8k

X2 240 is lot better than 5600+ by a small margin, but the 240 can be oced to a much higher extend like 3.8Ghz or more and consume almost half the power, and produce almost half the heat.

X2 240: 2.8Ghz

Nope.. Sorry forgot to mention it in the thread..

This new template will take time to get used to..

Would AMD or INTEL be better for cheap rigs ??

Atom is too weak, and is mostly used in micro/tablet PC like Asus eee pc and acer 10" or 12: ones.

Sempron LE are powerful single cores with 2.7Ghz and almost 2x powerful than old generation Athlon 64 3000+ and all.

Atom is not so weak for a billing machine, and can save a lot of power consumption beyond imagination.

Atom..Weak.. No Way !! I am running Win7 on it with 2 GB Stick . Movies, Browsing, Office

works flawlessly. infact it is my currently primary RIG.

@Holic. i would suggest go for Atom.

Atom is not that weak if you want a machine only for billing purpose.

Besides you could save your money on Electricity Bills as well.

Get your facts right.Atom is quite a good platform and is enough for his requirements. It is no way weak.

You can also undervolt and underclock the semprons to bring down the power consumptions, but i dont think Atom can meet the performance of a sempron LE.

If u are hell bent on lowering ur power consumption then go for Atom or else Sempron can give u a better, much better performance...

Why is everyone stressing on better perf. . for a billing machine Atom is more than enough . Hell even an 800 Mhz P-III can do the job . He could even get a quad core disable 3 cores and underclock it but thats beside the point . Get the Atom for the billing machine
