I don't think any phone is much of an upgrade from a Nexus 5 right now, unless the battery life is a big issue for you. The internals in that thing are still beastly.

Nothing. It's exactly the same internals in an awesome plastic body. I personally think it looks even better than the M8. This isn't cheap Samsung plastic.

IMO, Gionee is decent at best. Xiaomi is up there with the likes of Oppo, HTC etc. Better build quality than Samsung for instance. I've only really used the Mi2S but it felt really good in hand. Nothing cheap about it at all.

Xiaomi makes some solid devices. Build quality is top notch. This isn't another Gionee.
