So, wanted to close the story - I got my AKG K601 fixed in Mumbai from the official service centre. Good guys, lovely to chat with also. It was a simple issue but needed opening up and rewiring it by experts.

This site and members are legit. Pls do check the rep of the seller before buying. e.g. their other posts etc. I've bought several times from here and always had a good experience.

Well I did use the AC blower to clean the PC and the SMPS properly but that seems to have not helped. The dust stuck on it due to moisture, am not sure that got released, probably not. Perhaps I should turn it off and clean it with blower immediately?
