@TheIndian The dent was on side walls of the drive which is made up of metal and quite sturdy. The dent didn't appear to be something that would affect the functioning of the drive. Had it been the bottom part of the drive (which has the circuitry, that would have been totally different story)...

None taken. The moment I found out that drive was not going to get complete 2-year warranty (after WD support email), I immediately took action to get it replaced. I didn't notice the recertified mention on the label before WD mentioned. I was just following the normal process to note down...

I generally buy every piece of PC component from Prime, but they were out of stock with 3TB WD Green for quite some time. Hence I ordered it from Flipkart. I'd just like to inform everyone to think twice before buying internal hard drives from them unless you have no other option. Two issues...
