^ need some more help on 970 vs 990fx... from what I've read so far, I should only go for 990fx if I plan to overclock, and /or do a 16x - 16x crossfire... is that correct?

If I want to go with a 990FX board, do I stand to gain much? I saw a Biostar 990FX board for 9k, which I thought was a pretty good deal.... Planning on clubbing it with either a Fx-6300 or a FX 8320... Also, planning to go with a 16 gig RAM kit (8 x 2) - same as the one mentioned by @cooljeba...

@sky , well , my current rig has lasted me about 3-4 years, so I'm looking at 3 years at least. I'll be open to upgrading bits and pieces in between, though, but no major component. (eg. I can add a stick of RAM if required later, but would want to hold on to the mobo + cpu + gfx card throughout...

Hmm... I was avoiding the touchpad coz of the OS... I've heard it's pretty sluggish. An android port sounds good, but since I have to buy this for someone who's not that much into technology n stuff, it'll be of no use :( @tech4pk... how do you find your chinese GPad? I'm a little skeptical...
