Are circuit breakers enough to protect us against electric shock?

When you say circuit breakers, you probably mean MCBs. MCBs are like resettable fuses, they'll allow current passage up to a certain amount, then trip, depending on their config. MCBs are not likely to prevent electrocution, as the current limits are rather high (5Amps min for households), and...

{UFO/UAP/Drone] Image of unidentified object on tarmac from captains/pilots of aircraft on X

Not to derail the thread, but have any of you watched X-Files? It's one of the best cop partner drama, with aliens/ufos as the background and Mulder/Scully dynamics. Young Gillian Anderson as Scully was simply stunning.

Please suggest a good 650w PSU

Update, ended up getting the Asus Tuf 650w PSU. Build quality is really good, and has some heft to it. Combined system load when both cpu and gpu are both under 100% load is <400w, so still has some headroom for transients and some future upgrades. Thanks everyone for the suggestions.

I don't think you need to hide the price in the invoice, but if you did want to, just a heads up, A + B = C :p. GLWS

China launches world's first 10G broadband network in Hebei, surpasses global internet speeds, Download speeds upto 9834 Mbps

Just means 10 gigabit, or 10g base t. G in mobile network specifies the generation, not speed.

China launches world's first 10G broadband network in Hebei, surpasses global internet speeds, Download speeds upto 9834 Mbps

I wonder if it's just lazy journalism, as I remember Romania doing this long back, eg https://linustechtips.com/topic/1383780-digi-romanias-largest-isp-launches-10-gbps-fixed-broadband-for-just-101-eurmo/ .

Please suggest a good 650w PSU

I was actually looking at the pk650d, which is tier C, but the pn750d is apparently well reviewed, B, just that it costs 7k instead of 5k. Will consider this and leave the decision to friend. I'd prefer he goes with the better psu, but his money, so the ultimate decision would lie with him...

Please suggest a good 650w PSU

Friend is planning a build around rtx 5070, r5 7600 etc.. A 650w PSU should suffice, and while we're not planning to absolutely cheap out on it, a decent value option would be great. I've considered the psu tier list, as well as pcpricetracker, and not seeing any B tier options at a decent...

Suggest home inverter for LiFePO4 battery

Battery was from Yati Infotech on Indiamart, they're nothing special, built the battery to my specs, but sealed the casing using rivets, apparently battery carries an warranty but don't know if that's useful. A bit low on communications but that's par for course for IndiaMART sellers. Battery...

Suggest home inverter for LiFePO4 battery

I'm using my 8S LFP battery with Ashapower 3024 inverter, and the experience has been really good. The only reason for using Ashapower is that the charging voltages and currents are configurable. You can configure bulk charge voltage, float voltage, charge current, high and low disconnect...

Need a TE app supporting both Android & Apple mobiles

I suppose I'm on the other end of the spectrum, I use the browser whenever possible to avoid installing apps. Apps take more space, request a bunch of unnecessary permissions, run services in the background using system resources, and generally don't support "open in new tab" keeping the current...

    The Photography Thread !

Ghum station, part of the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (DHR). DHR is one of the last remaining narrow gauge lines that's still operating (alongside KSR and others) and has active steam engines running from Darjeeling to Ghum and back. Took this with my S23 and edited in capture one to replicate...

Apple Recent launches - a few questions

For certain institutes, an email verification is all that's needed. I still use my ac.in email (forwarded to personal email) on unidays, samsung student store etc.. The re-verification frequency is once per year, but it's been a while since I've been a student, and re-verification just sends...

    The "Everyday" show-off thread !

https://sequremall.com/products/electric-screwdriver?variant=43267637248188 It's pretty good, I watched a few reviews before ordering, and one of the channels I follow, sdg electronics, gave a favorable review. In my experience, in max torque setting it has enough torque that I couldn't hold...

    The "Everyday" show-off thread !

New toys Sequre T55 hot plate for smd soldering and es666 powered screwdriver with bits. The T55 is a fairly recent entry in the diy market, uses USB C PD for power and capable enough for smaller projects. The screwdriver has a shit ton of torque, and is reviewed well, also charges over PD...

Monitors Please suggest Oled 4k 240hz monitor . Burn in warranty must

I have the Dell/Alienware AW3225QF, it's a gorgeous curved qd-oled, but the curve is really gentle and does not distort the image. As with all gen-3 qd-oled panels, displayhdr 400 true black is less susceptible to screen dimming in higher APL scenes, compared to hdr peak 1000 mode. It does have...

Guide Downgrade PSU to Save Electricity Power?

Lets do some roi calculations, if you assume your average power consumption at PSU output is 60w, assume current psu efficiency is 80% and a mwe 450v2 efficiency is 85% at 60 watts, power difference at input is 60/0.8 - 60/0.85 ~ 4.5w. 4.5w would amount to 108Whr a day, ~40KWhr a year, which...

    Review Aliexpress.com - Feedback Thread

They do, I've ordered from Alibaba twice, and it was very professional. There are a lot of sellers catering to end users, with MOQ 1 (depends on the value, higher valued items have a lower MOQ, both times my order was in the 100usd range, and had a MOQ of 1). The chat people are typically...

News NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs Already Facing Shortages, Prices For RTX 5090 & RTX 5080 Have Doubled In Some Regions

Agreed on most points, and why I had refrained from commenting before. I was interested in the efficiency regression claims, which just seems like a big nothingburger.

News NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs Already Facing Shortages, Prices For RTX 5090 & RTX 5080 Have Doubled In Some Regions

I don't get what's the downgrade though. Is it performance at iso-power? If so, 5090 shows better results than 4090 at 450W and 400W, according to the chart linked above. Is it performance per unit chip area? That might be a possibility. However, performance does not increase linearly with the...
