Need a TE app supporting both Android & Apple mobiles

I suppose I'm on the other end of the spectrum, I use the browser whenever possible to avoid installing apps. Apps take more space, request a bunch of unnecessary permissions, run services in the background using system resources, and generally don't support "open in new tab" keeping the current position in a long list of posts/items. Browsers on the other hand provide an isolation between the webapp and the system. With more and more apps moving to react native/webviews, performance isn't that different either. Sure you lose some functionality, like push notifications, but I generally deny notifications for all except messenger apps. Amazon, flipkart, reddit etc. work perfectly fine in the mobile web, and sometimes work better (ublock origin blocks reddit ads, for example).

TE works perfectly for me on Firefox Android, using the classic(old) theme, and I like that it doesn't try to push an app using a full screen overlay.

We really need an Android app for TE. It's a painful thing to access this website using a web browser on Android. The text is so small, some UI elements appear broken or you'll have to switch to Desktop mode (more frustrating). I'm pretty sure we have android developers here who'd be willing to chime in and help for free.
Wow, I don't face any of these issues on my S20FE with Chrome. I've never had to use desktop mode ever with this site

Have you tried with Chrome? Or any other confirmed working browser mentioned here

I'm starting to wonder whether this 'text too small' business might be down to Sammy behind the scenes rather than Chrome alone.

Which then brings into question the phone you use?
Look at this from this perspective:
Everyone is on their mobile phones all the time or most of the time. Having a TE app means they will be able to access the forums with ease and could engage in topics actively. In my case, I could access TE on my phone easily but I prefer not to because of the inconvenience of opening a browser, typing the URL, zooming in and out to find the login element, and such. So, I only check this forum out twice or thrice in a week because I don't get to use my PC on a daily basis.
All this is possible. Question is why a browser doesn't work as well for you.

I'm using Chrome too with XenForo default theme.

I'm not facing any problems. Text size is correct for me.

Opening TE is two tap operation at max. One to open Chrome and second to open TE classified from bookmarked link.

I use TE on the mobile browser at least 4 to 5 times each day. I don't find it any more difficult to browse than other websites. The inherent pain of browsing through a small mobile device is there, but no issues about font size or functionality. One of the tabs is always open on TE.
And I hate installing apps unnecessarily, especially when it offers no additional benefits.

The new platform is miles better than the current one for mobile browsing. It will address most of the concerns of not having a mobile app. However to give a more tailored and simple experience we will have a mobile app eventually. Just that it will all take time. As I mentioned elsewhere, first target is to migrate in the month of July or that quarter. Next the mobile app.

I recently joined TE, and even with just a little contribution, I’ve learned a lot just by reading threads.
This forum feels like home for tech lovers, especially when you don’t have real-life friends to talk tech with.
Really hope TE stays this way and keeps growing — huge thanks to everyone keeping it alive.
