Out of Stock now, hopefully some of you were able to grab it if you needed it.

Keep on checking/refreshing page. It is cycling between Out of Stock and Available.

Yes, seems to be cycling, keep refreshing every now and then. It’s in stock again for the moment.

Back in stock once again, bounce on the deal if needed.

What’s so good about this? Price?

It’s a bit weird that they don’t mention endurance rating on their site. It’s probably buried somewhere in the datasheets. A few reputable online reviews rate then for 600TBW per TB which is pretty much the industry standard for budget to mid range SSD, so it’s a pretty good deal.

Sadly I prefer drives with DRAM for my use case, otherwise would have jumped at this opportunity!

This is QLC so check that it suits your requirements.

I would not touch silicon power SSDs with a 10 foot pole. I bought 2 Ud90 SSDs, both were DOA. Flipkart didn’t do anything about it and it’s been lying with Supertron since October 4th. Silicon power states they are going through some “management changes” so are unable to RMA and this would take time. There is no stock pan India.

I’m losing my mind and looking to move to consumer court.

Could have just paid 1k more at that time and bought WD/Samsung but no.

I’ll post a rant thread soon.

Damn this is crazy.

I am definitely avoiding them for now.

idk but if you had used a Credit Card, could have done a Chargeback?

When it comes to critical stuff (aka ram/storage/psu) it is recommended to stick well known established brands’ well reviewed models. That is why I don’t go for patriot/teamgroup/silicon power, maybe their after sales support is good in US but I am not in US.

P.S. Adata & Corsair too ran out of replacement ram stock so not giving ram replacement, only refund that too based on amt mentioned in original invoice.

In the US, you can return pretty much anything and everything.

Same with EU. Consumer protection in India is a joke.

That doesn’t work in India for cases like these. Chargeback here almost only work for proven fraud cases (aka product never delivered).

That’s because it is US. Here, amazon & flipkart tried it in a limited manner a few years back & look where it led them too.

Yes but consumer mindset is also not the same as that in US/EU. Flipkart/Amazon tried very liberal return/refund policy & look what happened.

There is a business risk which needs to be handled by the companies. India already gets substandard products. There will always be people exploiting the system like that on both sides of the spectrum.
But because of a few you cannot penalize everyone. Openbox deliveries eliminated majority of that problems. Each market is different.

That doesn’t work in India & China (aka each market is different like you mentioned). 1% of total online shoppers in India is a bigger number than many US states & EU countries population & you can be rest assured that those who misuse here are not merely 1%. As for openbox deliveries, only flipkart implemented it for most products & even then frauds happen (yes one can do fraud even in openbox delivery by collusion with delivery person).

Its often happens that customer is fraud, delivery person is fraud, warehouse manager is fraud and the whole supply chain is waiting to take advantage or cheat! these are there everywhere but the volume here is too high.

All I am saying is because of a few you cannot penalize the entire population. If a company cannot handle a market it shouldn’t do business then. If I am paying more than 10%-50% markups compared to EU/US on certain products, I care about the services too. It is not like these products are cheaper in India.
The entire system apart from a few out billions - (1 % of 1.5 billion is still 10 million ) - Numbers are both a boon and curse for businesses. That is the challenge which is borne by the companies and authorities.

Depends on the laws. There’s no laws in India that prevents companies from doing this. If you don’t like the laws then please feel free to get into politics to change them.

It’s not your call to tell a company what they should or shouldn’t do. If you don’t like what a company does, please feel free to get in their ranks, become the country head and changing how they operate.

Ultimately, it comes down on how the consumer treats such behavior too. If you’re going to get substandard, defective items and you don’t complain in one way or another, you’re silently letting such companies do what they want.

In my case, supertron is just a middleman. The onus lies with silicon power to supply them the drives.

Also, if you don’t have enough drives in your service network, you should not be selling your drives in retail. At that point, your mention of product warranty is bogus (which is and should be legally binding).
