3D Printing Service

Of course, I don’t mind, I am not going to gatekeep how people use their stuff haha

That said, I would recommend you think about pricing more than I did lol. I didn’t really think of how many prints would be more than 1 plate which increases the time and labor of a single order. My printer also needs to be cleaned/relubed every 100 hours so 3-4 times a month.

And from what I’ve heard, print failure could be a bigger issue on Enders so there’s that too (I had a 7.5hr print fail yesterday and I had to reprint it at 50% speed so 15hrs..
).

Anyway, all this is to say that yes, go ahead! I’ll probably increase prices slightly once I have a better idea of my costs.

Cheers

Thank you for the advise buddy !
I’ll definitely check the pricing you put and adjust accordingly. Will start this once I go back to Bangalore, dealing with a little medical shit rn and in delhi, but I’m so excited to start this haha !

I have ordered the Neptune 4 Max. Should come in a few days. Big build volume but not the easiest of printers to use. It is my first so its like i am starting on extra hard mode. Hoping i can use it for my work to make some new stuff. I wont be able to offer any printing services, but can we make a community or something on TE for 3d printing issues/guides/showcase?

A teeny weeny effort at search would have got you there -

https://techenclave.com/threads/3d-printing-thread.206268/

And with that, I would request all to move the unrelated conversations from here to this dedicated thread.

Hey can you confirm if you can do conductive pla ?

The heck? I searched for 3d print, print, 3d and such before this thread was made and I could have sworn it wasn’t there.
Damn. Sorry, my bad.

Are you getting the laser cutter with the h2d?

I am getting a non-laser version. There are many negative reviews about the laser version and how 3d printing and laser cutting in a single machine does not make sense

I’m not sure. Hadn’t heard of that kind of filament, don’t see it for purchase either

Maybe copper or metal infused pla?

Yes, that I’ve heard of now. I used to think that’s just a color lol. I’d have to purchase the filament first.

Could you DM me with what you need and we can go from there, thanks.

I don’t understand anything here. “Infill” etc, I don’t understand. You mentioned to check the link to see “how much material is used” but I am unable to figure it out. Can you help?
Does it give like in weight too as for noobs like me, It is better for me that the model will be say 300 gms so I know it will cost me say “300 x 1.5 Rupees” (correct?).

You don’t need to worry about infil and other settings (generally). It does give weight on grams but I’m not sure if you need an account (I already have one). You need to look at the print profile.

Or just DM me the link and I’ll let you know.

Ah yes, found it. Thanks. It does have a spool icon and gms mentioned below it. I will give you a link of what I want to try. I am in Mumbai so it will need to be shipped. Will try with a smaller thing first. Thanks for the help.

@@slippery I was planning on creating my own model for phone holder in car, but only hurdle I see is fitting it over dashboard. Would like to know if you have ever done something like it?

I looked on some websites and they have horizontal placements, I prefer dual way so not sure how shall I model. Does the material sticks well with fevi-quick and likes?

There are a few models that support both configurations but…

I won’t recommend PLA (or even PETG) for using inside a car (especially the dashboard). A parked car under the Indian sun will get extremely hot inside, enough to potentially deform PLA/PETG. ABS could work but I unfortunately, I can’t print it.

That said, feel free to DM me if you just want to try something out for fun. Clearly, a lot of people have done this but it’s my duty to let you know the limitations of these materials.

Why do I feel this thread can either…

Make me bankrupt
or
Make me buy a 3d printer…and then make me bankrupt.

It certainly will make u bankrupt but hold ur horses.

You should be able to use ASA in your printer. Similar properties to ABS (afaik)
Though there are conditions like you need open ventilation due to fumes.

Thanks, hadn’t considered ASA but will definitely look into it. Slightly more expensive (and limited colors with Numakers) but I’ll definitely check it out for outdoor prints!

Useful for @@Vagabond too so tagging you as well.
