Linksys MX4200 - ₹5000/unit shipped - 512MB RAM/512MB flash - have openwrt installed. Triple band (No 160MHz support). 3 Units, I used them personally for almost 6 months. Then moved to Hyd and found that one of these covers the whole home without issues (different layout of home + central placement) so selling the 3 not in use.
Linksys MX55EC - ₹4500/unit shipped - 512MB RAM/256MB flash - (the BestBuy SKU of MX5500) have stock firmware and are dual band. 3 units. They do support 160MHz, and you should use them in wired AP/router mode since there is no third dedicated mesh band.
7 days testing warranty. DYOR for compatibility/usefulness.
Uncut unboxing video required for claiming DOA/testing warranty. Shipping risk on me, price mentioned is per unit.
One of the MX55ECs has yellowed (it was near a window). Added pictures for that particular one. No functional issues, can provide ₹250 discount for that one. I just put some vinyl over mine, it looks sick and since all 4 sides are almost flat, easy to apply as well.
Does the MX55EC allow you to manually set the wifi channel? I run a lot of devices in the DFS (106, 122, etc) band, can you check if it allows you to override the same in India?
I know that TP Link DECOs don’t allow manual configuration not sure about linksys
For prospective buyers - These are pretty good even as standalone routers. The stock firmware was pretty solid in my experience and it seems like they are finally going to be included in OpenWrt stable releases (from 25.12 onwards).
