Acronis has a tool to make a boot cd with Acronis Image on it… i would suggest installing Acronis Disk Director too, then make the bootable cd from within Acronis.. and include Disk Director and Image.
so u mean to say the backup i made through Acronis True Image is useless now ?
Or there is any way if i can make it bootable.. coz i have messed up my OS a lot experimenting overnight after that..And i could really use that backup..
No no… Acronis has a boot CD. The backup itself is not bootable. You need to get the Acronis boot cd from somewhere (or make it yourself) and then use that to restore the backup you’ve made.
I prefer Acronis, the Image and Disk program integrate well together, and I have never had problems with corrupted images. I like that you can just add incremental changes to the images rather than having to make new back ups every time you want to update.
One of the other things I love is… I made an image of a clean, fresh installed OS, boot only partition, with all my drivers and major software installed.. this is awesome if you want to do a clean install without having to do all the work. (It also saves all of your activation info… so you won’t have to re-activate or mess about with MS)
The Boot Disk tools are identical to the windows versions and boot flawlessly. I am a huge fan of Acronis and have used them for a few years. I tried Norton and a lot of other software, but found them to be too bloated.
