Not “gaming keyboard” per se but I’m looking for a decent mechanical keyboard. Switches I prefer Brown. I like Cherry MX Browns and Gateron Browns. Reds are also fine.
Regarding the keyboard models I really like the design of the Reddragon K617 Fizz 60%
But it’s only 60% and I need the arrow keys for work-related purposes. Regarding the lighting/RGB I don’t need RGB. Mono led is fine if it’s white or blue. I like customizable option and hate fixed-zone lighting.
My old keyboard was a Cooler Master Masterkeys Pro L.
It was my favourite. It had everything that I needed. Full-sized, Cherry MX switches and White-backlit led keys. It was perfection in my eyes. I would love to buy a used one again if I could.
If I cannot find one I’m simply going to buy a membrane. I don’t have the budget even for mid-tier models. If a new piece costs about 3k then I’m going to look for used one under 2k.
I don’t have enough experience with these. The cheaper stuff is usually not good but I hope someone with experience can chime in.

It’s not that I don’t like membrane keyboard but when you use it a lot they tend to break down often. But with mechanical switches I can smash as hard as I can and it will still be okay! This helps a lot when you play games and get frustrated so you type thousand words in just a few seconds!
I’m implying good quality switches like Cherry MX. My old keyboard came with MX Red. I don’t know how other switches fare which is why I’m hesitant to spend so much on it.
Which keyboard exactly? Because if you bought the MageGee Mini its 60% without arrow keys which you said you needed.
While some membranes are better than others they all have sticky keys in my opinion or at least they feel like sticky whereas mechanical keys are very crisp, in sound and feel both. If you have not used mechanical keyboards before then membranes will feel okay but if you have tried mechanical you wouldn’t wanna go back to membrane. Best thing going for them was that they were cheap and affordable, now mechanical keyboards have become affordable as well.
Looks great and seems like you got a good deal as well but I’m worried for it’s durability. Reviewers said it’s not hot-swappable. I own the k617 fizz as well and while it’s great for gaming I do miss the arrow keys so trying to find the next best thing that’s affordable.
MX browns are the best switches in my opinion but I haven’t tried that many different keyboards.
What brand switches does the MK Star TKL comes with? I can see it’s blue switches but no where it says which brand. Also the product page doesn’t exactly give confidence because it has spelling mistakes and the user manual for it is unreadable and small. lol
Seems like generic switches like those Kailh switches.
Regarding the keyboard unless you are obsessed with using reputed old brands there are so many for 3-4k.
