Good opinion and remarks given by the court. Those who are showing great love on straw dogs should take them in and feedback them not leave them on the roads where they are biting and killing children and elderly. This is not justice by any means.
If straws are to be given a free hand on our roads then what about the safety of our children and elderly?
yeah, no animals whether its cows or dogs should be roaming around the streets. Human safety should be of upmost priority.
In a country as vast as India, with rules that are never followed, thereās no other option than mass culling.
Plain and simple.
They can beat around the bush as much as they want and try reinventing the wheel, but nothing else will work.
Thats what some panchayats in Telangana has done. Mass culling of dogs upto 500 numbers at a time and now they are facing criminal charges for it.
The govt knows what is a harmless protest (dogs) and what hurts them politically (pollution, infra etc).
One of those protests will be culled. Either by arrests and denied bail. Or by sending someone to chant naxal slogans. Or whatever else. The other protest gets media coverage and a soft hand. Which is why it looks like the people who protest for dogs are doing a lot.

Dogs should be vaccinated 1st of all because they can cause rabies if they bite.

There are instances of vaccinated dogs passing rabies. Itās not a fool proof solution as market is full of fake vaccines.
I grew up with cats and dogs. Love them both. Getting blood drawn with their teeth and claws was a routine. Never got a single shot rabies in my life as I knew the animals I was playing with. These animals were unvaccinated too.
I even criticised Indiansā fascination on another forum for getting rabies shots every time they got a harmless scratch while playing with a kitten. Itās not a norm in western countries.
Things are different now. India is the rabies capital of the world. I deleted that criticism from the other forum. I would recommend people to be more cautious.
There is a law called ABC to sterilize and immunize dogs(and release them to same area they were caught)
Due to widespread corruption and apathy towards lives (both human and dogs) the municipal corporations do not do their job.
There is also curious case of vaccination and sterilization in paper and not in reality.
Some municipal corporations contract NGOs to do this job for them. They frequently delay payments to contracted NGOs for multiple months. This effectively means that they donāt have funds for Vaccines, Medicines and food which results in them ignoring the work.
Another issue is that instead of taking majority of dogs in an area(min 70% should be sterilized in breeding period) they take only few at a time. It affectively means that sterilization rate is lower than birth rate (thus population actually grows).

Nationwide sterilization was implemented in 2001. If it had worked, there would be literally zero dogs on the streets unless of course India happen to have record breaking mutant species of dogs that live up to 30-40 years.
