I want to sell the following three items:-
AMD Athlon64 4000+ 1Mb cache San Diego core
ASUS A8ne( no onboard graphics)
TwinMos 512Mb DDR RAM 400Mhz
Issues with the board:-
->Sound has crapped out a bit.. ie It is not clear
->Get CMOS checksum error on boot (been using it like this since a year)
Mumbai Buyers preferred. Will sell items individually if i get buyers for all three, so pls pm me your quotes.
mine was same board once and i applied for RMA on last month of warranty and got 4k money back just for the a8ne
IF warranty is still there, try that.

I would like to knw whether the Proc is 939 socket and how does it compare to AMD X2 3800
Thanks
yes its a 939 solution and the board is fabulous i have had mine since 2005 and it is an amazing board supports my dual core opteron overclocks it and houses my 8800gt and lets me max out games.

Yup the processor is socket939. It is faster than the x2 3800 in general except for dual core optimized apps.

You sure? I read something otherwise here
Please state your reasoning as I have to upgrade my 939 cpu

All the benchmarks posted above make use of the second core hence the results.
The 4000+ will be faster in things that cant use the second core(thats obvious too) eg older games n stuff.
If u want an upgrade from a x2 3800+, theres no point shifting back to a single core.
