AMD has unveiled a range of new desktop CPUs, including the Ryzen 5 5600F for Socket AM4 and several Ryzen 9000F-series chips for Socket AM5. The F-series indicates processors without integrated graphics. Additionally, AMD expanded its Ryzen PRO lineup with new Zen 4-based models aimed at commercial use, featuring enhanced cores and threads. Key specifications include Ryzen 7 9700F with 8 cores and Ryzen 9 PRO 9945 with 12 cores, all maintaining a 65W TDP.
What are your thoughts on AMD’s strategy of introducing CPUs without integrated graphics, and how do you think this will affect the market compared to Intel’s offerings?
My Take:
AMD has released AM4 & AM5 Processors and they are for budget goers.
How much money can they be possibly saving by removing the graphics part? Feels like these are leftover dies since they’re being introduced so late in the product cycle.
Also, wouldn’t the 5600F be the same as 5600 non-x?
Yes, the AMD Ryzen PRO Series processors supports ECC RAM, provided the motherboard also supports it. For ECC functionality to work, both the CPU and the motherboard must have the necessary support and be configured correctly.
