AMD's future

This company has to survive… it has two brutal and ruthless competitors in Intel and Nvidia, but still both these companies lack something in their products. Intel and Nvidia make great products, designed and manufactured with perfection, but still they lack magic of HD 48XX or Athlon or 780G.

AMD’s products are not perfect and often buggy, but they have just a bit of that extra something which make the hardware scene just that tad more exciting!

This company has to keep on fighting…

Inside AMD: where does it go now? :: HEXUS.channel - Essential IT business intelligence

AMD+Sun should merge :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: Then that should merge with IBM… I’ve been predicting this for the last 7 yrs… I know this will happen someday

^^All hail OSS :face_with_tongue: BTW AMD is a great company and has a great future :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: , despite the fact they were outgunned by Core series they keep on releasing counterparts.. Though none surpassed C2’s but was neck to neck in almost every bench.. and the price/performance ratio has always been AMD side since their downfall..

I still remember people crying for X2 3600 + :face_with_tongue:

Amd needs some great but simple ads which the common man can understand.

Few years back I had seen the Amd and Me ads which totally sucked. Compare that with Intels ad for c2d, “the best desktop processor”.

Even a layman can understand Intels ad.

I was waiting how they gona deliver with their Fusion technology. The combination of CPU and GPU in one chip that will make it very lethal :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: , only if they deliver. A supercomputer have been made with nvidia GPU power check the link

University of Antwerp makes 4000EUR NVIDIA supercomputer

"By 2012, three of the top five supercomputers in the world will have GPUs using parallel computing applications to crunch numbers at a clip that’s not possible on standard CPU-only set-ups, predicts David Kirk, Nvidia chief scientist. "

Now if the future power lies with GPU, then AMD have made the right move with its fusion technology. Think about 4 to 5 GPU intergrated with 7 core CPU and all in one chip, thats gona BANG the BOOM. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Whatever anybody say AMD will beat with it Tech and Price, Sure!!
