Looks like the heydays of the 6600 GT are coming to an end. but a lot depends on pricing and availability of this card…
Also some of the GTOs can be modded to X850…goody goody.
No wait…this is not good for my budget
How do I fit in this xtra 4k???
^^ Thats only Sapphire X800 GTO2. Besides at 14k its not in competition from 6600 GT which is priced much lower. Pricing is really ridiculous here i India.
and that too the initial batches which may not last long …seems they are well rewarded for being faithful to ATI…![]()
Lol.
14k is a joke. 6600GT is around 10k and performance is almost the same, inless you get ur hands on a Sapphore GTO2 or Older GTO
.
^^^

You seriously need to do some study before posting.
X800GTO is 12 pipeline card. It literally beats the hell outa 6600GT. Its not there to compete against 6600GT to be honest. Its for performance middle to that of 6600Gt and 6800GT.
It beats the crap out of anything less than 6800GT.
It beats 6600GT even in doom 3 with AA and AF enabled.
SO thats X800GTO for ya ![]()
Still costs more ![]()
Hardly any1 will buy it, India. Almost every1 here buys a Budget PC. No SM3 (even though SM2, looks better to me
)
An x800 xl or 6800 GT is for 14k actually 12k abroad.
X800XL is well over 15K.
6800GT is also 19K-20K in most places except at active infocom site which shows it at 15K which may be a site error.
As said its not there to compete against 6600GT. Its in different price catagory and in the us it costs close to only 8K. ($180-185).
Its perfectly priced there too and it could be 1K cheaper here to make it more attractive offer.
And SM3 on 6600GT is almost useless. I can play Farcry with HDR enabled and good frame rate with it. Neither can i play SCCT with HDR and acceptable frame rate. Dont know about AOE3 as i havent tried it yet.
This gives 1 more option to the buyer who can spend a little extra for some real good performance but cannot buy cards like 6800GT.
Thats where its aimed at.
Told you SM3.0 Sucks!!
Infact if any1 wants to buy a good gaming machine, they have to make sure the Gfx Card and Processor come from abroad
.
You may be one of the lucky ones who can get stuff from abroad. Most people in India cannit. and some who can refuse to do so coz they are afraid abt the warranty and all that.
and yeah, the X800GTO is waaaay better than an 6600GT. And today, when someone wants to buy a mid range gaming PC, we suggest that they buy a 6600Gt.
If the X 800 GTO releases in big numbers, then, I for one will certainly start advising people to buy an X800GTO… the performance difference is worth the extra 4K.
This was some fascinating news…
Dunno how you guyz get stuff from abroad? :-??
Too expensive ! 6800GT is available for 17k now and prices will drop more after the “official” X1800 launch.
People on a budget will still buy 6600GT, and this card will be in the middle of nowhere as 6800GT with K/ASS performance that can kill this card w/ SM3.0 is available for 2.5k more…
Who told u 6800GT is 17K? The advertised price is the MRP. Now how many computer peripherals are actually sold at MRP
. It’ll most certainly debut at around 11-12K. Anyway no use buying either with the next gen midrange parts on the horizon.
yeah so the14k price of the x800 is also MRP…so it should be available for lesser price
6800GT below or around 15k? Where? Which make?
^^That my friend is a typo, so need to get excited ![]()
Btw the 14k is the MRP(x800 gto), expect street prices to be around 12k region ![]()
But since for that rate since you aint getting SM 3.0, a plain 6800 or even a 6800GT sounds much better..
A plain 6800 costs only 8500rs in US (converted, ofcourse)..
NV4x has SM 3.0 but its crippled support unlike G70, the X800 is a much better deal then a 6800 NU. And X800XL is a better deal then a 6800GT simply because its cheaper.
Any plans for an AGP version?
AFAIK nopes, AGP is dead. Techhead since your Radeon 9800 pro is dead, why dont you go for an A64 overhaul ?
