Best non native resolution for streaming?

Got my New Tab A11. Its resolution is 1340 x 800. About 5:3. Runs Helio G99, 8GB Ram.

Now, on Diana/Artemis, i set a custom resolution on the same Aspect Ratio, 2000x1200.

its what also the games on the PC detect and run on as well.

Question is, am i getting any benefits? I feel like it does look better… but am i really getting that resolution on a display that only supports 1340 x 800?

On the other hand.. What if i go 200% Native res? So 2680x1600 will be rendered on PC… but it will stream on 1340 x 800.

Effectively im trying to do DSR. I am just wondering which would look better. a Non native res thats not a multiplier of native, or a direct native… something that works like 4k Video on a 080p screen.

Since you already have everything, just give it a try and see if you find it noticeable

I’d personally aim for a higher refresh rate experience than DSR, normally you’d be holding a tablet fairly far away, and at that screen size it won’t be very noticeable I think. 90Hz though? I’ll take that any day.

The more effective thing you can try first is messing with the encoder presets and bitrate to ensure your stream actually looks good. After that you can try the higher resolution.

Use the tablet’s native resolution and refresh rate, with a 50-100Mbps bitrate depending on Wi-Fi stability. Aim for 3-5ms latency.

how well can you run the game itself? if you can run the game itself on the frame rate you need, i would recommend a multiple of your tab resolution. odd multiples won’t really work the same way.

personally i recommend running at whatever resolution supports 60(or 90)fps since your tab can stream that, and it’ll feel better.
