Best place to buy silver from?

I wish to purchase silver bar which place should i go for? Mmtc or local places like senco gold etc is fine? Mmtc says 99.99% purity while others like senco says 99.9%, does it matter?
And do they offer any buy-back guarantee like they for gold? Thanks

Buy from the bullion dealer in your city. you will get best rates there.

Okay thanks. I have no clue about these things so will need to check. I’m from Calcutta btw

Calcutta used to be our to go place to buy gold jewelry. My friend has a gadi in barabazar for silver jewelry, I ask him for the bullion dealers. In calcutta it will be hard to buy directly from bullion unless you are planning to buy atleast a few kgs.

My friends shop name is AB jewellers.

What changed?

We shifted to raipur. They have better designs and better rates than calcutta. Contacts in raipur developed better. For imitation jewelry, calcutta is still superior to raipur. Although nothing comes close to Jaipur. The shops in the goenka street are very good.

Ever since I was a kid I was told that Calcutta is where the best artisans are. But this has not been my experience. I’ve never really found great designs in Bowbazar. Maybe they haven’t kept up with the times.

Where is this? Jaipur?

Kolkata.

I agree, my cousins live in Rajasthan - the Johrari Bazaar is the place famous for.
My mother used to purchase antique jewellery from moti sons back in the day.

That place is like a shrine for my mother. Whenever we go to jaipur. Johari bazar has to be the first place we visit.

Okay so should I contact you friend then?

you are buying silver because silver is the new gold ?

You can try but I would recommend you to visit other paces as well in bowbazar and barabazar before going to his shop so you have an idea of the general making charges and premium over bullion rate.

Buy it from Augmont it gives the best rate generally.

Yes actually. I was playing with derivatives up until now as I literally saw it moving from 150k to this levels in like 2 months. But with extreme volatility and paper market manipulation I just want to stay invested in physical form now. Somehow i believe the future potential of the metal, maybe I’m wrong dunno.
