Dairyfat – Sourcing Service for Overseas Sneakers & Exclusive Fashion

Hi everyone, I’m starting a new sourcing project called dairyfat.

In a market flooded with the skimmed leftovers of local retail, the idea is to provide limited and overseas exclusive drops that usually don’t make it to our shores.

Whether it’s sneakers, limited streetwear capsules, or regional fashion exclusives, dairyfat is a personal sourcing service designed to get you access to global inventory without the usual logistical headaches.

The Setup:
There is no website yet. I’m running this as a high touch, lean, community focused operation managed via WhatsApp for the time being. My goal for 2026 is to gauge the viability of this service to eventually justify a full scale platform.

What we bring to the table:

  • Global Sourcing: We have boots on the ground in key markets to secure pairs that are either sold out locally, never released here, or to offer a more reasonable alternative to the crazy resale markups seen domestically.

  • No Math Prices: Our quotes are all inclusive. Shipping and customs duties are all handled. The price we give you is the price to your door.

  • Beyond Sneakers: While we love footwear, we also source apparel and accessories from brands that are hard to ship here.

  • Vetted Authentic: We aren’t just shipping boxes; every item is physically inspected for authenticity.

How it works:

  1. The Request: You let us know what you’re looking for (Model, Size, Colorway).

  2. The Quote: We provide an all inclusive price. This covers the item cost, international shipping, and most importantly, all customs duties.

  3. The Payment: The products are secured once you make the payment.

  4. The Wait: Delivery usually takes around 3 to 4 weeks. During heavy cargo periods or holidays, this may extend to 5 to 6 weeks. These timelines are estimates and may vary due to customs or logistics, though most orders are fulfilled well within the 4 week mark.

You can join the community here. For updates and announcements, you can also follow @projectdairyfat on Instagram.

I’m looking forward to helping you guys source some incredible pieces this year. If you have any questions about the process or specific brands we can source, feel free to ask below!

Best, dairyfat

Name needs some work imo lol, I feel like you’re going for something like vegnonveg but it might be a bit easier to go with a name that gives you a brief idea of what it is that you do from the getgo

ik that sneaker reselling has died hard in the US, a lot of stores in bangalore aren’t doing too well either anymore, some like cop underdog have just shifted to handbags and watches on the marketing side atleast. Retail market is growing in India and will continue to do so but resell has died hard again.

I’m sure you’ve also probably heard of delivo or the various other freight forwarders, most I can just ship it to their addresses and their third party agents collect it, then it’s a rate of 1300/1600 per kilo. A lot of sneakerheads that I know just use this method (and still do)

Second hand stuff on mercari for japanese archive brands like beauty:beast or n9 are nice but this is a niche within a niche for a country like India. More curious to know who your main target audience is, because the aunties and uncles who buy LV handbags and wallets prefer the retail store experience. I used to be on some of these luxury item reselling groups and they do provide sourcing services like the ones you mentioned.

fair point. lace plug was actually my original choice for that exact reason, clarity. dairyfat is more abstract and still very much in flux. if the general consensus is that it’s too vague or confusing, i’d be more than happy to pivot back to something literal like lace plug

the dwindling interest in sneakers is definitely a concern, but to clarify, this isn’t meant to be a resale operation sitting on inventory or flipping hype pairs

the audience is definitely niche. i’m definitely not targeting luxury retail buyers who want the boutique experience with champagne and door service. the gap i’m trying to fill is slightly different from a freight forwarder. experienced users can absolutely use freight forwarders like delivo. this is more for people who don’t want to manage the logistics themselves, or who prefer a single all inclusive quote upfront. the idea is to absorb any variance on my end and keep it simple for the buyer. it’s essentially a convenience driven model

So basically it’s a middleman shopping service. Transparent pricing would be a big plus here at TE. Are you limited to products only from China, or can you source from other countries too?

If you’re planning to invest a decent amount into this business, it makes sense to have direct connections with air/sea freight shippers in China who can give you better rates than Delivo or other freight forwarders based in India. Since importing from China is now much simpler and there’s no customs hassle because of FF, this route might make more sense. Just my two cents.

Why use this word “dairyfat”?
I thought it’s something related to dairy products at 1st glance.:face_savoring_food::laughing:

i guess it’s fair to describe this as a middleman or concierge style sourcing service. transparency is definitely the goal, which is why i quote a final ‘landed’ price. the idea is that you know exactly what you are paying to get it to your door, with no surprises later

definitely not limited to china. while china freight works great for general goods, a large chunk of legitimate sneaker and streetwear inventory, especially archive or region specific releases, comes from the us, eu, or japan. sourcing those often means being closer to where the stock actually is, where standard china freight lines may not help. that said, i’ll definitely look into it. thanks!

i just love full fat dairy. but seeing as you’re the second person to mention the confusion, i might have to think it over
