End of support for Windows 10

Well as you know MS is ending support for Win10 in 6 days, just curious as to what most of the people here still on Win10 like me plan on doing.

  • Continue using w/o support
  • Move to Win 10 LTSC
  • Finally switch to Win 11
  • Linux FTW

I dont like when pc is using even a single thread of operation without adding any extra benefit, windows 11 is good and all but still i like to use windows 10 because it is more debloatable and uses less resource. It matters a lot in my mini pc, idle power consumption is lowest with win10, 3.1 watts only. And also for my main pc with r5 5600 and rtx 3060, i play eSports title only, like val and cs. There’s a significant difference with win 10, like 5% more fps and stutters are myths now. With windows 11 everything feels heavy and game has lower 0.1% lows..

I already shifted to windows 10 iot LTSC 21h2, it is even more slimmer and performs nicer! But no support for apple music app..

For anyone willing to get their hands dirty - Linux. It is not as reliable and secure when it comes to Windows ( controversial take but from a newbie perspective and least tech-savvy ) LTSC versions of Windows is what Windows should have been from the start though.

Does LTSC version key and Retail key are the same?
Where should we get this LTSC version to download?

My plan as a Windows 10 user:

Not bother in the slightest and reassess the situation in 5 years maybe.

i believe you can use mass grave script to activate. for download - i don’t know.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/download-windows-11-iot-enterprise-ltsc-eval

Is this the right download page?
I should download normal version not the ARM version right?

that’s Windows 11. you want to install Windows 11?

Windows 11 iot enterprise ltsc 2024 licence
Prices are ranging from ₹ 500 to 1000 and 1500.

Are these prices good?
Which one to go for?
Is cheapest price good or middle one or the highest price good?
Please tell. Thanks.

I am using few Windows 10 licenses bought from various sellers on TE.
Used same key for upgrade/fresh install of Windows 11 (works without issues)

Two system using Windows 10, other two using Windows 11 (mix of laptop/desktop)

Not available as retail. It is not retail sku.

LTSC version is different from the retail. Even their keys. As BinaryBard pointed out, you can use mass grave for activation.

The below link is from official microsoft. The evaluation copy wouldn’t let you activate it. The below one would do. Moreover, there are download links on the mass grave website too.
Windows 10 Long Term Support Chanel/Branch ( LTSC/LTSB ) 2021 would be just fine.

I personally use IOT version of LTSC. That is the lightest version out there and least bloated. No online account crap. The iOT version download links would be on the mass grave website.

there are no individual licenses being sold directly to the end-users. Those are meant for companies/enterprises. Whosoever is selling is either using Volume license keys from their company that was setup or some other means. Either way it falls under piracy nonetheless. It is better you donate that money to someone in need and use massgrave instead. Better for the soul too.

Microsoft employees have used massgrave in the past themselves.

Can we play games in it? In iot LTSC version?
Can we install normally the GPU drivers? And all game launchers?

I think you should stick to normal Windows editions for your use case. Although I am not sure why you are posting here and also elsewhere for alternative OS including Linux. Try reinstalling your current Windows after a full format and see if it fixes your issues. If not troubleshoot the issue with the help of product support (I assume yours is under warranty).

Time to switch LTSE version never used LTSC can someone tell major difference between the two

Yes. I am currently using the same. This is basically everything the consumer windows minus the bloat.

Never heard of LTSE. But LTSC is just normal windows without the bloat. You won’t get feature updates and crap but security updates. Windows LTSC doesn’t come with Windows app store and co-pilot baked in. Windows app store can be installed with just a simple command.

Can we play games in it just like in normal retail versions?
