shady facebook resellers have found TE

Techenclave was better with xenforo and post requirement for market access but now with paid access many fly by night operators can just keep cropping up.

Who is the other reseller? The one who did not want to use his own TE account?

Yes the reseller is the one who did not want to use his own account. He goes by the name Techstash on whatsapp as shown in screenshot sent by For Sale – Antec 1300W Signature Series and Asus Rog Strix 750w PSU - #18 by heven

I believe op posts the ads for him. But the timestamps etc are written by the reseller (but in op’s name) and the reseller has the actual unit.

Can’t find anyone on TE by that username, though.

I am assuming his te username is prolly different.

Either way, this has been a very unfortunate occurrence.

Hope @Renegade @puns look into this.

This is shady af. I hope mods investigate this and ban both the reseller and OP who posted this for sale on his behalf without actually having the cables / unit with him. This is clearly an attempt to scam an unsuspecting buyer

Another thing to note:

Getting a full set of new cables for a series launched 5 years ago (almost 6) is not easy - especially for a 1300W unit.

Even if they had procured the cables, who’s to know they may have been the correct ones? It would have led to a catastrophic system disaster for the buyer.

I think a ban is in order, if justified.

you will get the cables. If not from some user, then from OEM or custom cable makers with right connectors. But the price of cables will be easily as much as the cost of PSU itself (cost at which he is selling). OEM replacement cables are extremely expensive. So are the custom ones. You cannot trust second hand used cables which do not come with that particular PSU.

Hi TE,

I want to provide a detailed explanation of the situation that led to the cancellation of the order and the refund.

Initially, I had informed the buyer that the cables were available, but it turned out that they had already been sold. I acknowledge that this was a mistake on my part. Despite this, we arranged for the original cables to be procured.

However, I accept that the delay in shipping and the lack of transparency about the cables led to the buyer’s suspicion and request for cancellation. I had offered a full refund and a 1 month warranty to alleviate his concerns.

Unfortunately, the situation escalated, and the buyer made threats against me, including claiming that I would lose my job if I didn’t refund him. I had maintained a calm and professional demeanor throughout the conversation, but ultimately, I had to agree to a refund to resolve the issue, Even his purpose would satisfy.

I don’t want to escalate this further, as mistakes were on my part, but the threats that his father was CBI and asking me to send my friend’s location name and threatening to kill my job were soo freaking scary.

I did not threat that you would loose your job. If anything I spoke very calmly with you throughout the exchange.

Yes I did tell your reseller friend my dad will visit him because he lived very close by to my dad’s office. Let’s not pretend your friend did not keep insulting me throughout

Edit - I will attach all the screenshots for everyone to judge my behavior. The claims you have made is very serious. If anything during our conversation I had felt you were the nicer person among the two and had communicated the same to your friend. If only anything I had claimed your friend is a liar which though sounds inflammatory and insulting but is something I stand by even now given the forging of the timestamps etc.

You haven’t clarified who your reseller friend is though

The rules are pretty clear

The seller should have Physical possession of the items he’s listing here in this section.

@aryabhattadey , do share the details of the reseller.

He owns Techstash Enterprise. And I don’t want to include him in this mess.

Then why did you list a product that you did not have in hand on behalf of him ?

Why didn’t the reseller list it on his own account if he has one ?

Without providing any reason , Missed opportunity to come clean right there. Made it sound like you’re putting it on the buyer.

I have added all the screenshots of my whatsapp chat between TheCondor and me

I am also adding the screenshot of my last message here in case someone does not feel like going through all of them. But please do go through all of them and judge me for yourself.

I had advised TheCondor over call (very calmly. Sadly I have not recorded the call) that he should stop selling stuff for his friend as that might land him in trouble. And that he works at a nice firm and while the fresher salary is low there is only scope of growth. I had done so from the pov of a senior with more experience of life and corporate world as I felt he might have just made a genuine mistake trying to help out this reseller. I did not at that point realize he would spin it like this. I never threatened him as the chats will show. I feel like an idiot for trying to give him advice. I only did so as he had told me during the call that he didnt know his friend did not have the cables etc and that he was only trying to help his friend.

Sadly I do not know his te id.
I just know he has one but prefers to rather deal through his friend.
His current number is +91 99105 87910. And he seems to ship from an address in Faridabad, Delhi.

There seems to be a few whatsapp group this people run. They resell and it seems like if they can get a buyer by hook or crook they prolly get a cut of the sale amount.

They dont allow cancellations (and I was told that I cannot cancel as per their group policy by TheCondor) but I never signed up for their group and I had assumed through out the exchange that the units were with Condor given the timestamps.

Truth be told they only took my request for cancellation seriously when I told them my dad genuinely works close by.

Also note the other red flags in this transaction. No package images nothing shared for days. Booking made just after I wanted to back out (these are all in the chat and the screenshots).
Even though I did not have a problem with condor or his friend for being a reseller I did have a problem with them forging the timestamp, lying about the cables, sending no packaging images and only booking after I wanted to back out. I am really glad something inside me told me to back out (possibly the lack of packaging images that genuine sellers share).

You’re pretty chill for a guy who almost paid 7k to a reseller or “trusted dealer” or whatever who’s probably still trying to offload a mining PSU .

It’s pretty obvious these guys are dealing in stolen goods and that’s why the reseller is using others to push his items in the market and to launder money by getting it through “clean accounts”

TE admins should ban OP and try to figure out who the reseller is and ban him as well.
