Marvel’s Wolverine New Trailer Provides First Look at Gameplay, Confirms Fall 2026 Release Window
Four years after Marvel’s Wolverine official announcement, today we finally received the first proper look at the game during today’s State of Play.
The new trailer shared at the end of the presentation provided the first look at gameplay with an overview featuring brutal, intense combat and various environments that Logan will explore during the adventure. Combat looks so brutal and bloody that it almost feels like a sort of crossover with the Ninja Gaiden series, a franchise well known for showing quite a bit of blood.
During today’s presentation, members of Marvel’s Wolverine development team, such as Creative Director Marcus Smith, Executive Producer Eric Monacelli, and Senior Project Manager Jess Reiner Reed, provided additional insight on the game. Great care has gone into making the game a proper Wolverine experience, with great attention to detail, the addition of other characters like Mystique and Omega Red, and the right actor to play one of the most iconic Marvel Comics characters.
Playing Wolverine in the Insomniac game will be Liam McIntyre, the Australian actor who played Spartacus in the TV show by the same name, JD Fenix in Gears of War 4 and Gears 5, and Taron Malico in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. While it’s too early to say, judging from the trailer, it feels like the actor is doing a great job capturing the essence of the character.
Today’s State of Play also confirmed that Marvel’s Wolverine will launch on PlayStation 5 during Fall 2026. More information on the game has been confirmed for Spring 2026.
