What are the recommended DVD media to backup data on? Ive had bad experiances with Moserbaer and (the most commonly available one here). Even Imation game me problems in some instances.

taiyo yudens . i had a go going till today for some great verbatims. but the Taiyo yudens are surely the best
If u’re having trouble sourcing Taiyo Yudens, katmandude’s deal might still be open. My place, one only gets Sony/ Moser Baers or cheap unknown brands. Moser Baer is utter crap. I’ve had DVDs going bad just sitting on the shelf.
Sony has been a little better.
Agree with you, Taiyo Yudens are the best. But the taiyo yudens is not easily available across India.
Get the TYs through KMD or take the Verbatim -R that 200mph is offering here
From the convenience and reliability standpoint, I’d go for Sony. They’re easily available - you can get them anywhere - and out of the 200-odd dvds I’ve burnt so far (all Sony, dvd-r’s and rw’s), not a single one has crapped out on me.

In Chennai Ritche street, u can get TDK (Made in Taiwan) - made by ProdiscS05 (uses AZO technology- same as verbatim, they even make OEM’s for Verbatim)

I have burned nearly 150 discs and not even a single failure
