GRID not lauching in XP even with a fresh install.

So i have a have the demo as well as the full game and both of them are not launching in a fresh install of XP. The same game works with VISTA on the same config. Did a fresh install and have the lastest CAT 8.7 drivers still the same issue. What could be wrong.

Config:

8400 on Stock

2 GB RAM

XP SP2

ASUS P5B Dlx

HD4870 on CAT 8.7

well, for me the full version, it displayed some rror that one dll file is not found. dloaded that from the net, was ~40KB, pasted it in grid root directory and since then its workingā€¦

Dirt barely works on my comp which is also a codemasters game

Few frames of the intro vid come on, then hangs

upgrading to 1.1 didnt help either

well both games working jus fine for meā€¦ great gamesā€¦ :slight_smile: although i stopped playing dirt when GRID came alongā€¦

Yup i have kaperskyā€¦ And to the dood who said something abt Dxā€¦ Well it doesnā€™t matter weather i have it installed or notā€¦ The game automaticlly installs it for meā€¦ And also it works in Vista and not in Xpā€¦ On the same configā€¦

wat errror u get man .. i hav the full game currently playin it do u hav the dx update man june 08 and the latest graphics driversā€¦:slight_smile:

No errorā€¦ Nothing happensā€¦ Just the wait icon for first few secs and then nothingā€¦

is ur system32 files proper coz i recently reinstalled coz ma svchost.exe was effected wti a win32 trojan ā€¦ so ma game used to crash in middle.. :confused:

use ā€œ-novirtualā€ in the shortcut and see what happens ..

Also , are u using on-board sound ??

Try adding it to Kasperskyā€™s trusted application list. Oftimes, Kaspersky will pop up a query in the background, when an app tries to access another app etc, and if you havenā€™t added it to the exceptions list, it will keep blocking access.

even the -novirtual does no good for me. It just wont launch. I think im seriously missing something out here. My config is in my siggy; all at stock no ocā€™ing
