Group buy for Internet download manager

So I was wondering if we can arrange another group buy for Internet download manager. The members that are interested, can show their interest in comment section, and if we have enough members then we can arrange a group buy.

I ll be interested, let’s see what price it comes down to..

Awaiting others to spoil your plans by suggesting Jdownloader and rant further..

I have no idea about JDownloader, does it performs similarly to IDM. Like a download option pops up when you see a video or listen to an audio.

We are against anything that can land us in legal trouble.

If the TOS clearly state that account sharing is illegal then avoid such threads. Not worth the trouble.

Google it but the answer to your question is YES

I have downloaded it but, I am not getting any pop up/prompt on the video that I am watching. How do I get that?

So the final price that they are offering is 13.50 usd if we buy 10 keys, should I create a new post for it?

I was wondering if someone would be interested in group buying HD Sentinel Pro?

Why do you even use idm?

What do you use?

Not the person you asked, but I’ll take the ques because I am one of those users who used IDM extensively in the past but don’t see the need anymore. I started off with DAP or Download Accelerator Plus, it was IDM before the IDM. Back then downloads were extremely slow as most browsers were inefficient af and weren’t designed with this usecase in mind, I am talking about single digit kbps. E.g. a single MP3 file of 3-5 mb would take almost an hour or so to download. I remember I had downloaded the trailer of the Kingkong 2005 movie, it almost took me 2-3 hours or more and then it couldn’t be played and I had to download some obscure flash video player.

So yeah, a dedicated downloader was necessary because the downloads in browsers kept breaking and were not resumable. DAP and IDM would download over multiple threads and were faster than inbrowser downloads. They would often also support resuming. These days I rarely download stuff outside of torrent. Torrents are handled by qBittorrent.

Even if I need to download a big file like a Linux ISO, I don’t see my downloads breaking and inbrowser downloads are just as fast too. 2-3 gb iso downloads in under 5-10 mins for me over 200 mpbs connection. If I occasionally need to download something as big as 10gb or more, I would use FDM, it’s a free alternative to IDM and works well enough for my usecase. It’s missing some features but I don’t seem them as important.

FDM old version was better then they spoiled it, don’t know how it is now but as you said who needs a dedicated download manager in 2024 browsers can handle anything easily even a 15gb file can be downloaded in 10~15 min. DAP was pretty good but I was introduced to JD so it was FDM + JD all the way.

FDM old then IDM pirated then IDM licensed from Groupbuy here . I have found that few websites deliberately give slow speeds in browser . Same download goes my full bandwidth in IDM eg sourceforge

Can you download youtube video through browser?

For YT videos, use Stacher for the front-end which uses yt-dlp in the backend. Supports playlists, channels, subtitles and Sponsorblock as well.

is IDM better than JD ?
