m new here…frm mumbai.

M gettin a new pc…in a few days…waiting for intel price cuts. :blush:

Heres my planned config…

Core 2 duo E6600 = 10,000/- (after april 22 price cuts …may havta wait for another 15 days over here)

EVGA 680i SLI = ?

zalman 9700 LED = ?

Antec 900 = ?

sparkle 7600GT = 7,250/-

western digital caviar SE 16 - 250 gb = ?

2GB- 2*1024 dominator 6400 C4DF / crucial ballistix cf-6400 2gb / OCZ cf-6400 sli ready edition = ?

Lite on 20x dvd writer = 1,850/-

Logitech Precision PC gaming headset = 1,900/-

Logitech z-2300 / Klipsch pro media 2.1 = around 10,000/-

creative x-fi extreme music = ?

Razer copperhead = ?

OCZ Gamextreme 700w = ?

samsung 940 BW / Viewsonic vx922 = ?

Now…i hope u lads n lasses can help me out here with the prices. My current budget is around 80,000/- …i can drag it upto 1L.

I hav quoted the prices i KNOW n hav CONFIRMED. (may be slight diff).
But there are some stuff ( left blank “?”), of which i know the international prices($$) . Hopefully u can quote the indian prices (mumbai) . Please dont quote grey market prices…coz m gonna buy stuff with bill n warranty.

U may wonder why m buying sparkle 7600GT. Its coz m gonna upgrade my PC after 6 months…when the quad core prices are slashed. And by then hopefully i can get directx10 cards for better prices…the current prices r DAYLIGHT ROBBERY.

Sure about the E6600 pricing ??? No direct conversions plz. .. i think it’ll be around 12-12.5k’s :face_with_tongue: ..

My dealer said it’ll be priced somewhere below 12k, and the price effect will come in 2 or 3 days.

get a XFX 8500GT for 6.5k instead of the 7600GT

get a Viewsonic VG1930WM for rs. 12500-13500 instead of samsung 940 BW / Viewsonic vx922

EVGA 680i does not sell india here the Asus P5N32E-SLI sells for rs 13000 which is a 680i mobo too

the Liteon drive is crappy better buy a LG H42N for rs. 1700

western digital caviar SE 16 250GB should be rs. 3700 max mostly

the Razer copperhead is bad too better buy the Razer deathadder for rs. 4000

Antec 900 costs 9k & is crappy better the CM Stacker 810 for rs. 10000-11000

creative x-fi extreme music costs rs. 8000 here

OCZ Gamextreme 700w does not sell here so you have to buy the Corsair HX620W for rs. 7000

zalman 9700 LED does not sell here either but Thermalright Ultra-120 should be available in Mumbai from next month for around rs. 4000 mostly

none of the RAM kits mentioned by you sells here so you have to buy a good kit from the TE Market or order from Memory-Configurator.com or buy 2x1GB Kingston Value DDR2 667MHz RAM for rs. 6500 locally

all the stuff should be available at Prime ABGB, Lamington Road, Mumbai

If thats a gaming rig you are building, then that 7600GT does not belong here along with the other components. The minimum you should get is a 8800 GTS 320 MB or at least a 8600GT. But as you said if its a temp card till your next upgrade, then get the 8500GT as Udit suggested. As for CPU HSF you should also be able to get the Cooler Master GeminII here.

I agree with Udit and others. You are better off with a DX10 based 8 series card instead of 7600GT

Just a quick question out here.How is the 8600GT compared to the 7600GT in real time benchmarks.It should not be just the DX10 tag which should make it any superior.Is it marginally better than 7600GT or below it?

XFX 8500GT is 6.2k

XFX 8600GT is 10k

XFX 8600GTS is 16.5k

I got real world quotes of 8500 and 8600 series from local dealer.

Here it is.

XFX 8500GT is Rs.5500

XFX 8600GT is Rs.8850

XFX 8600GTS is Rs.15100

Mind you 8500GT is not fast card at all. And it does not do better than 7600GT in real world.

Its pure budget card and thats it.

8600GT is little but respectable. But current 7600GT owner wont notice much if they are upgrading. New buyers, sure go for 8600GT.

8600GTS pricing is silly. Better buy 8800GTS 320MB at little more.

You cant called a PC with a 7600GT a Gaming rig.

Unless you want to play games at Low res. And with that Config, I dont think you wanna :face_with_tongue: ..

memory configurator also has OCZ power supplies.

Forget about hat evga board. First of all it has too many problems. And importing motherboard is always big no no. Shipping and warranty will be huge issue.

Buy P5N32-E SLI locally. With the latest bios this is one kick@$$ 680i chipset board.

Also buy Ultra 120 Extreme from Sidewinder Computers - A huge selection of High Quality PC Modding and Cooling parts. Its the best air cooler in the market right now. Nothing else is as good as that cooler. And i mean nothing…

as i said buy the Corsair HX620W for 7k here instead of the OCZ gamextreme 700w as the Corsair one is modular too

EVGA 680i & Asus P5N32E-SLI are the same you can even use the EVGA 680i Bios on a Asus P5N32E-SLI :face_with_tongue:

buy the Thermalright Ultra-120 when it launches in Mumbai as the Thermalright Ultra-120 is better than the zalman 9700

Hmm not the case. It was all other reference boards that could use evga bios including the jetway boards.
P5N32-E SLI is different design :wink:

Motherboard…how abt ASUS striker extreme?..i know that its cooling is better than P5N3-E SLi. And its got LED n display…which i think wont be useful. And its overpriced.
How abt DFI mobos?..lanparty…are they available in india?
