Hello everyone. I am planning to buy treadmill for home usage for parents and myself. And i have zero knowledge about it, i searched amazon and came to know about this durafit vigor pro which im confused there’s not much review i guess this product line up is recently launced. And this is only one i found which is under 30k rs and has the highest weight endurance and 6hp motor.
Should i go for it? I am looking for durability and reliability in long term too. It says it has BLDC motor i know this is good. But i do not know about rest of the factors. Please, i am open for suggestions. Thank you!
I’ve had a treadmill for a long time and so have a few of my friends but nobody seems to be using it regularly, so there is a big market for pre loved treadmills. Last time, we found that Cult treadmill purchased from Flipkart was most cost effective. BTW unless people are already using it elsewhere and have habit of using it, mostly it lies at home unused.
Also, people of 150 KG shouldn’t use treadmill to avoid damage to knees.
No one is 150kg bro. avg weight in our home is 85-95kg.
so you are saying that we may lose motivation for daily treadmill session? Well that will be a total waste. We live in village and nearest gym is 20km away.
I go for evening walk to nearby playing field which is 1km far from here. But my parents are not comfortable walking outside. I am mostly doing it for them. And should i wait for September sale? Will there be any discounts.
What’s your experience, regarding maintainance and durability?
I am planning to buy dumbell and grip for myself for little bit of strength training too.
Haha. I don’t know how you came to the conclusion that @CasualGamer91 is 150 kg.
That 150 kg rating is to show the high quality specifications of the treadmill.
I have a 10 year old treadmill which is 2HP I think, very basic and was the cheapest treadmil at the time (20k). It works fine as long as you keep maintaining it - spray lubricate the board and once every 1-2 years get a technician to check it out (though I would be lying if I said I followed the latter).
My treadmill goes up to 12kmph which is too fast for most people, so don’t get go enticed by HP number, 3 HP is more than enough. Look for more reliable brands and those with service center around you. If you are in Delhi/Gurgaon let me know I will recommend you a store which does both sales and maintenance, you might even find used treadmill from them.
I live in a small village in west bengal. Roads are bad, gym is too far.. you see the durafit one I’m getting it because it looks durable and priced at 30k rs, where other similar spec go above 50k. Yes as per the other guy said I’m getting overspeced one for our need just because of quality. But most certainly I wouldn’t like it to be used as stand for wet clothes to dry on haha. On the other hand it is readily available so that will be plus for motivation?
I would recommend wait for Prime day sale and get the cheapest treadmill 3HP or more you can find. That will be more than enough, you should be able to fulfill all your requirements for 15k. In 10 years I have never gone above 10kmph on my treadmill. Unless you are very athletic and run fast for 30min+ you don’t need anything above 3hp.
As for utility - I find it useful for when it’s too cold outside in winter here in Delhi (and polluted) as well as monsoon. In monsoon even when it’s not actively raining, running is a bad experience because of all the mud on the roads.
Yeah that will be better, i will wait for sale, im not in hurry anyways.
@codwapeace bro still better investment i think other than doing nothing.. then i can blame myself for not doing it other than blaming factors like gym too far or like that. Also it will be plus in hot and rainy weather, home workout can be done
Bought a treadmill a decade back and may have used it for a year or so before selling it off. Actually if you are buying it for aged people check if they are comfortable using it. Basically treadmill is monotonous workout and you get bored using it after a month or so. Using it in a gym is different as the treadmill is a part of the equipment there.
One way to overcome this problem is first get addicted to some serial, as per your taste. Then decide that you will see the serial only when are on the treadmill. This worked for me.
I don’t have the problems yet but my parents does, im 27 rn. Maybe slow walking works and when on daily maybe. My parents doesn’t have joint pains yet or not severe, they can walk normally. anyways thanks for suggestions i have fixated on buying it. I will buy more equipments later..
I bought a motorized treadmill in 2022 but could not do exercise on it since 2023 October onwards since I moved to govt quarters and there is no space for it to be laid down other than in standing position.
