Issue with display while system wake up

Hi All,

I’m facing a strange issue with my PC and would like to know if anyone has seen something similar.

I have an AMD system paired with an RX 550 and an LG 22" IPS monitor. Everything works perfectly during startup and normal use. The problem starts when the system goes into sleep or hibernate. When I resume from hibernate, the monitor doesn’t get any signal and then switches itself off after a few seconds. At that point, there’s no way to get the display back other than force‑restarting the system.

It seems like a corner-case compatibility issue. I’ve tested by pairing:

The RX 550 with a different monitor (BenQ) – no issues

The LG monitor with other GPUs (Nvidia) – no issues

So the problem only appears with the RX 550 + LG monitor combination. I’ve already tried changing the PCI Express power settings (link state, etc.) with multiple combinations, but none of them resolved the issue.

Has anyone experienced a similar scenario, or found a workaround or specific driver/setting that fixes this?

Regards,
Jijo

RX 550 works without drivers but screen goes to sleep after installing AMD drivers (HDMI/DVI to VGA adapter issue?) : r/gpu
