If it’s JioFiber, FUP is 3.3TB. If it’s AirFiber, it’s 1TB. This is the case for all plans. It’s on their T&C.
Their new “JioHome” branding muddies the water by bringing both JioFiber and AirFiber connections under the same name. If you have already booked the connection via app or website, talk to the sales guy who got assigned to you and confirm they are installing JioFiber and not AirFiber.
Jio Fiber - FTTH fible optic cable to your home using PON port router blue colour.
Jio Air Fiber - uses 5g network from tower just like mobile 5g and cable which comes to router is ethernet port lan cable and one device which is generally fitted in terrace or balcony for wirless signal from tower.
Jio Air Fiber Plus / Max - it uses some C6/A6 whatever they say out of these one is attched to your terrace along with satelite type umbrella and it catches signal from 5g tower but not like 5g sim but infact from A6 device which has been specially installed in most jio towers for airfiber plus. cable which connects to your router in this is also ethernet lan cable.
Air fiber / Air Fiber Plus / Max - 1TB LIMIT
Jio Fiber FTTH - 3.3 TB LIMIT
Note - Air Fiber Plus / Max(c6/a6 device used for internet) is better than Jio Air fiber (5g network) in terms of signal and consistency.
I have used all three so according to me -
RANKING
JIO FIBER > AIR FIBER PLUS > AIR FIBER
and yes i wont recommend AIR FIBER, get jio fiber only, if not possible than only go for AIR FIBER PLUS. @colors6
Attaching screenshot of jiohome plan 599. The FUP plan is same for all plans
This is what jio home is described as
Powered by AirFiber and Fiber, JioHome brings you unlimited Wi-Fi and non-stop entertainment — with 800+ TV channels, OTT apps, gaming, computer-on-TV, and more.
Never get Jio Airfibre . The speeds are pathetic and I used it only for a couple of days before I switched back to Airtel . I lost 4 months of subscription .
I don’t know why you are confusing yourself unnecessarily. Commercial usage policy for Fiber plans refers to the 3300GB limit. It literally says 1000GB limit for Airfiber in your screenshot. If you are still doubtful, check the T&C pages.
I think it gets refunded as long as the connection was not installed/activated but Jio takes their own sweet time to process the refund. Ask the salesperson or contact customer care to cancel your order. You can track the refund here.
You can’t be blamed. It sucks that major ISPs are moving in lockstep and employing dark patterns to trick users towards what is more profitable for them. Heck there isn’t even a straightforward option to cancel a connection. I had to call saying I had an issue with my internet to get hold of a human and then ask them to initiate the cancellation.
jio is very usefull.I have used Hathway in Mumbai for half a decade now and for some reason they are extremely professional. Heck there isn’t even a straightforward option to cancel a connection.
It’s been 1 year since I haven’t gotten refund of Rs1000 for Jio AirFiber connection that I canceled before having the connection. I raised 4 NCH requests but of no help. They are scammers. Hope you get back your money
For me, another reason to stick with Airtel has been their customer support, and how they send engineers the same day to debug and resolve issues (most times). I’m glad I haven’t had to reach out to them in a very long time, but I feel confident that if something does come up, I’ll be fine. This has stopped me from switching to ACT or other players who have faster plans at similar prices, since I haven’t heard good things about them in regards to support.
Quality of service depends on your area. for example in Trivandrum it is hard to get a new connection sometimes. while in aurangabad they say you cant get service even though the pin code is servicable.
while in my place in the same city service depends on different areas.
Jio/Airtel/BSNL all adhere to FUP strictly as it is a system dependent restriction with no manual intervention. Once the total usage cross the limit the system will place a speed limit on the connection.
