Why such mice are as costly as a gaming mouse? I wonder what’s so special.

I’m also waiting for the same

My brother had the 2S for almost 2 years, last month it died on him and they gave him a 3S as a replacement since the 2S wasn’t available lol.

Because of these features it’s so special and costly also.

Mice such as these have specific use cases eg if you want to have more comfort / easily navigate large excel / datasheets / use 3d modelling and want to move across axes.

There are other specific use mice as well - check out the Logitech ergo which is great for comfort and spacemouse (is it even a mouse? Haha!) which is specifically used for 3d applications.

Based on that video, features mentioned by him like extra buttons, dpi change, assign extra buttons to whatever u want etc are all available in a gaming mice as well.

The only difference I see is easily switchable to devices with dedicated button, scrolling wheel on side (this seems awesome).

I have the 2s btw. It’s a great mouse but it is heavy af. Just saying that keep that in mind. You can’t use it for gaming. It’s strictly for productivity.

Ergo and spacemouse I understand. There is some Kensington mouse too like that. These are unique and understandable abt the price.

but 2s has 1 year warranty right ?

My bad I misread his text, it died a week before his warranty expired, still commendable service from Logi as usual.

The 2s and 3s are excellent for 2d modelling afaik. They sell rather well - so definitely there is a segment out there which finds value in the offering.

Mainly they can be used on any surface, this is the biggest plus, atleast for me. Also if you set up Flow same keyboard mouse can be used with easy scroll on multiple machines in the same network. Even copy paste on multiple machines without physical switching.

It would’ve been even more awesome if 3s had the same horizontal mag scroll like that of vertical

I’ll preface by repeating something I read in a magazine some decades ago: The most important part of the computer should ideally be what you interact with the most. That’s the keyboard, mouse, chair and monitor. So I’ve always splurged a little for a decent keyboard and mouse and larger or dual monitors and settled for something like a 2GHz P4 instead of a 2.4GHz. Infact for hardware, I’ve always purchased one or two steps below flagship. But I could never compromise on ergonomics, I just wouldn’t end up using my computer as much. I remember for one of my builds, I went with a celeron because I wanted the Microsoft Natural Keyboard, ha.

With the MX2S, I bought it because every a e s t h e t i c youtuber said it was the best for content creation and my G700s needed replacing. After using it for a few years, I don’t think it’s worth the price I paid, but when it came time to replace it, I just bought another. No reason other than I became accustomed to how it feels and the macros I had set up.

I find the back and forward button hard to reach in mx master 2

I replaced that functionality with middle click. Middle click to open in new tab, middle click on the tab to close the tab.
