Low cost build for AI projects

Guys, i just got the claude pro plan and I’m trying to set up the code and cowork system so that I can automate my system and build some AI projects

What i’m realising is that maybe i would like to keep it off my main desktop which has a lot of personal stuff.. so maybe I should get a work pc?

Whats the basic low cost windows based or machine based hardware configuration you would suggest? I’ll most probably check out the classifieds here and put up a WTB post

I will mostly be vibe coding - i have a little coding experience but i cant say i’m an expert at it. my current system is windows based and so i’m mostly at ease with a win based system.

Looking at the title I thought you wanted to run something locally. Not sure why you feel that you need a separate computer for running claude? If claude reading or messing your local filesystem is the concern just create a VM and code there. I would use KVM on linux, but I think you can use Virtualbox (or maybe WSL) to create a VM on windows.

This is of course the extremely low cost of free.

Fair enough. Let me try it out in a vm. Will get back if it goes as per expectations
