Motorola Edge 60 Fusion?

I am thinking of buying Motorola Edge 60 Fusion.

I was using Nokia G60 5G until now, but it stopped working all of a sudden. Had posted about it here:

I took the phone to Nokia service center yesterday, but the guy there straight away said that it cannot be repaired, as they don’t have the software, and said it is often motherboard problem. He told to take it to a repair shop which has the software. I don’t know what software he was talking about. But, it is a big blow for me, as I thought the phone will get repaired. And if the authorized service center has refused to do it, I don’t think I will get any reliable shop to get the phone repaired.

So, have to buy a new phone. I have decided to go for the Moto Edge 60 Fusion.

Have decided to go for this, as it seems the best in terms of my requirements and price, and the specs look good too.

I wanted first of all a phone with stock Android or near stock Android. Moto phones have this. I would have gone for Moto G96 or newly launched Moto G67 Power, but these phones only provide 1 year of OS upgrades, whereas the selected phone will get 3 years of OS upgrades.

Specs wise too, the phone seems solid and I saw a few reviews, and they recommend it.

I don’t see any other good option in the given range. Would have considered Nothing Phone 3a Lite, but it is not released yet. Looking to buy a phone in 20k range…can go a bit up if specs are better, and has stock or near stock Android.

Not a fan of brands like Oppo, Vivo, Realme, Xiaomi, etc.

Moto Edge 60 Fusion comes in two variants of 8 GB RAM and 12 GB RAM. Since 12 GB version is only 2K more, so makes sense to go for it. Will cost 23K.

My phone usage is quite basic…net surfing, whatsapp, Discord, Teams, PhonePe, Instagram, etc. I dont play resource hungry games. Occasional YouTube.

Will 8 GB RAM be enough, or should I go for 12 GB variant, futurewise? Thinking of 12 Gb variant.

Also, should I buy from Flipkart or Amazon? I don’t trust Flipkart nowadays. Ordering from Amazon will be better? Although I don’t think it has open box delivery. Should go for COD or should pay while ordering?

Croma store doesn’t have Moto phones, or I would have gone and checked there. Should I try buying locally, but I think price will be an issue.

Need to buy soon, as I am currently using my old Nokia 7 Plus, but it has started having the charger port issue and it is getting worse by the day. Had got it repaired a few years ago from the service center, and was hoping I could get it repaired again, but the service center refused for both of the phones. It was working fine till now, but since it is my main phone these days, the battery gets exhausted quickly and have to charge it 3-4 times a day, and that lead to the charging port issue again ig.

Thank you for reading.

Better to either go for lava agni 4 or nothing phone 3a.

What’s wrong with Moto phone?

Don’t really know anything about Lava phones…performance, reliability, customer support etc. Specs wise the phone looks good. But it is kind of an unknown territory for me. And it is a new phone, not even launched yet. Will take time for its issues to come out, if it has any.

Many of the recent Moto phones seem to have many random issues. The Moto Edge 60 Pro had lens-fogging problems, and users have reported various software bugs and quirks like camera shutter lag, updates that made the camera app crash on launch, update-induced bootloops, green lines after updates, and more.

On top of that, several members in above thread shared negative experiences with Moto service centres. They’re often unresponsive, dismiss genuine complaints, and even when there is a fixable issue, spare parts are hard to find. So getting anything repaired becomes a hassle.

That’s really sad to know.

I searched for issues of Edge 60 Fusion and came to know that it indeed has issues regarding camera stutter, and slowness of phone too with many apps open, and other issues. I think the older filesystem of UFS 2.2 is one reason.

This is sad though, because it seemed like a solid phone at 23K with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage, with IP 68/69 rating, corning gorilla glass 7i, good camera and best display in its price range.

I looked for issues on other phones in this range of 25K and below, and found that Nothing Phone 3a and even OnePlus Nord CE 5 have similar issues too.

Main issue with OnePlus Nord CE 5 currently is that even with 7000mah battery, many people have reported heavy draining. Some have fixed it by turning off the face lock, but just too many are reporting it. Maybe that will be fixed in future updates, but it seems like a big issue rn.

Nothing Phone 3a also seems a bit outdated if you consider latest phones with latest UFS and RAM tech. Further, even at 25K price range, these phones are offering just 8 GB RAM and 128 GB of storage. Higher variants are costlier.

I want to keep it below 25K preferably.

So, even good phones are having issues and seems like no phones are perfect. I am sure that issues might come up with Lava Agni 4 too after people buy n use it.

Now I am really confused which phone to buy.

If anyone is using Moto Edge 60 Fusion, or Nothing Phone 3a, or OnePlus Nord CE 5 here, can you please give feedback?

Also, can anyone please provide names of YouTubers who give honest reviews of phones? Many give positive reviews about phones and some give very negative reviews about same phones.

Like, I saw videos about issues with Edge 60 Fusion and Nothing Phone 3a and they seemed genuine, but in comments many people wrote that their phones were working fine and didnt face any issues. Really confusing.

Also, can people advise where to buy phone from… Amazon or Flipkart?

Strange that many people haven’t replied on the thread yet.

Please stay the f away from moto , currently preparing for a legal battle with them

Why, what happened?

For something closer to 20k, check Realme P4 Pro 8/256GB, costs under 22k.

OP Nord CE5 at 25k is also worth considering, will get you a better SoC (10-20% better CPU with 50% faster GPU), 1 extra OS update but lacks small things like stereo speakers, Gorilla glass & cameras specs is slightly worse on paper.

Manufacturing defect within 9 days, front camera died

It must be within warranty. Service center didn’t replace the phone?

Thank you for suggestion.

Not really interested in Realme or similar phones. They have too much of bloatware which I dont like. I want a stock or near stock Android phone, which is clean.

Really yaar, lack of glass protection like Corning Gorilla glass etc, no stereo speakers, is bad with OnePlus Nord CE5. And even at 25k they are giving only 8GB RAM and only 128 GB storage. Will have to spend extra for 256 GB storage.

Plus, there is issue of battery drain in the phone.

Nothing Phone 3a has older tech of UFS storage and RAM. Plus no charger, and that will cost extra.

Really frustrated with the choices available.

Moto seems nice, but yea, if support is bad, then it doesnt seem like a good choice.

Lava Agni 4 looks quite good on paper…but if there are any issues, it will take time for them to come out.

Tough choices.

No they refuse everything, refused to even provide any diagnosis letter

That’s really bad

Thank you for the suggestion about Lava Agni 4. Seriously considering it now. If you wouldn’t have suggested it, wouldn’t have considered it.

Realme would be easier to debloat & live with (guides available online) than living with OS of a smaller company which might be potentially not so well optimised considering Moto is having random issues. Realme UI is Color OS, which is very good now, behind One UI for me.

Heck, even Samsung flagship phones have some bloat now, A & M series are inferior vs Chinese, mainly on performance, battery & charging front.

8GB RAM is enough for non-flagship phones. Something like S24 having 8GB RAM last year was not good considering it would get 7 OS updates.

Don’t want to go with Realme, Vivo, Oppo etc, but it seems like Oppo has been doing well these days. But I am not interested in these phones, unless there are no other choices available.

Samsung phones have always been full of bloatware, right from early days. My first smartphone was a Samsung, and it became so slow after a few years. Had to buy a new phone.

Because of their OS updates, I had recommended Samsung M series phone to a friend, but that whole series got display issue. So, won’t consider their phones in future. Even their flagship phones get green line issues.

Nothing Phone doesnt have service center in my city, so I dropped it.

Was confused about OnePlus Nord CE 5 and Lava Agni 4, and was considering OP earlier, but now leaning towards Agni 4. I have created a new thread to ask for feedback about Lava Agni phones and service. From what I searched in forum, it looks positive. If I get positive feedback in my thread, will go for it.

Honestly go with oneplus, a phone needs an ecosystem,os updates security updates, spare parts etc. lava has none for now. Just go with oneplus its the safest bet

Lava has everything too. Lava provides home service while the device is under warranty. They also have a list of price of spare parts on their site.

I have read mostly positive feedback regarding their service.

They are also providing OS updates for 3 years and security update for 4 years.

So, what you are saying about Lava isn’t true.

But yea, it is their software experience which bothers me a bit. Some reviewers have said that they experienced some jitters while using the phone, and that their software needs optimization.

Compared to that, I think OnePlus Nord CE 5 has optimized software.

But on the other hand, Lava is better than Nord CE 5, in terms of USB 3.2 (Nord has 2.0), UFS 4.0 (Nord has 3.1), Corning Gorilla Glass 5 (Nord doesn’t mention any protection in specs). So, Lava seems better if I look future wise.

Also, I want to go for 256 GB ROM and for that in Nord CE 5, I have to spend 2K extra, which is going over my budget.

So, I am a bit confused what should I do. One Plus Nord CE 5 does seem better, because of optimized software experience, whereas with Lava, there will be some kind of uncertainty, since the phone is fairly new.

Sorry for a late reply. I wasn’t well.

Edit: I had replied to @ikkhan as quote, but after posting the reply, it isn’t showing that I replied to his post. Weird.

Thank you to everyone who replied to this thread.

I have bought OnePlus Nord CE 5.

Watch him , i think i watched his videos year back where he was maybe 10k subs, straight forward knowledge

Specially if you are thinking between two phones you just watch 10 minutes and you will be able to decide.
i got cmf phone 1 because of him based on what i needed.

Based on my knowledge at that time moto was the best choice
