Need advice — which laptop should I buy for my new YouTube channel?

Hey everyone.
I recently started a small YouTube channel, and now I’m planning to buy a laptop for editing and managing my videos.
I’m not sure what specs or brand I should go for.
Mostly, I’ll be using it for video editing, some basic graphics work, and uploading content.
Nothing too crazy, but I want something that runs smoothly and doesn’t lag.

Which laptop do you think gives the best performance for the price right now?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Without a proper budget, it wouldn’t be possible to comment -
but this is the best overall.

You can customize as per your liking. Upgrade - the wifi, backlight keyboard.. Also, do not get any laptop in India without accidental damage, if you want basic service.
Also, do not get storage and RAM from vendors. Get it cheaper outside.

Thanks for sharing the Lenovo Legion Pro 5 link! I like that it’s customizable. I’m curious — considering gaming, productivity, and durability, would you still say this is the best laptop overall, or is there another model you’d recommend?

I have found apple M-silicon chips as best for editing.

Even 4k with M1,16gb was smooth even with multiple layers.

The pleasure to see my editing smoothly happening was just amazing. Hours of work so smoothly editied.

So go for M4( latest one) with 16gb and above for being future proof and increase your productivity.

Please note My experience with windows on editing is not smooth but I am talking about specs like 5600H AMD, 3050 4gb graphics card and 24 gb ram.

It all came to me back then above Rs 1L but a Rs 60000 M1 performed much better.

Ofcourse the window laptop specs available today is pretty solid and should perform well in editing.

But Apple is still much better in productivity for much lesser price .

Will let others share their thoughts.

Legion pro series is the best out there in terms of both price, performance and reliability. DOn’t forget to add Accidental coverage.

Hey Bud, it would be great if you give some budgetary ideas as well. But since the question is kinda generic , I’ve been a long term windows user and have been using decent laptops. Approx 16 gigs of ram with ssds and all but they get sluggish overtime. 3 years ago I switched to a MAC and haven’t looked back. My journey started with a M1 and now I own a M3. While I dont edit a lot of stuff this guy can literally take anything I throw at it. So this should be woeth considering.

Cheers!

New MacBooks offer great value for money, check them out. And for storage, you can get an external SSD. They have great battery life and runs cooler compared to windows laptops.

The problem with Macbooks are limited storage and memory. In it’s base config, no computing unit comes close to price to performance ratio. As you climb up the ladder with storage/memory - the value proposition tilts in the favor of other devices.
