Never buy Motorola. Unending nightmare

Damn I was eyeing the Edge 60 Pro! Guess I’ll reconsider.

Did you try installing a custom ROM just to rule out software side of it? So many bizarre things are happening with your phone which makes me wonder if its really a hardware issue.

What you are seeing is what every manufacturer is doing. What they call planned obsolescence and it’s in everything we buy as consumers.

I’ve never had a phone fail in the last 10-15 years. But the quality has gradually gone downhill. Don’t be too worried and keep realistic expectations.

i have bought 3 moto phones in past 4 years and all 3 had hardware issues,on top of that the software is just a mess, g60 had ghost touch issues, g62 would shut down randomly edge 30 would get stuck in boot loader, the old moto was google this one is lenovo and the drop in quality of device is huge, my moto g3 was a tank, this is why i had no option but to go with oneplus 13 after samsung f*k me over with green line twice.

like i said, im moving to Vivo T4x

Motorola instantly went downhill the moment it was purchased by Lenovo. People disregard the lack of any software support as well as rubbish after-sales service because of the cheaper upfront cost.

Actually, that is how all the Chinese manufacturers operated until being forced to spend a bit more on software upgrades, though they still outsource it to mostly the same Chinese vendor.

At some point, you have to believe that is worth paying more, if it saves you time and headache in the long run.

if you are willing to spend the time pursuing this, I would suggest paying any lawyer who sits outside courts to draft a consumer court complaint against them, its a slam dunk case and you’ll win compensation for it.

The site you mentioned is just a mediation forum, basically to try and get both parties to reconcile amicably, its not the real consumer court.

For smaller amounts, I wouldnt bother but for a phone 15k phone? I absolutely would do my best.

I don’t know if I should post this here or not, but I read this recently and it seems apt. Apologies for the language.

Honestly man, at this point. All mobile phone service centers in India are basically scam…either they charge too much or refuse the basic warranty

I feel safe now, as I eyed on Fusion 60 earlier. But went with CMF phone 2 pro for its long term update and cost saving.

My experience with Moto is mostly positive. I have G62 and G73. The G62 was dropped pretty heavily and died on the spot. However, despite a visible little crack at a corner, the guy at Motorola replaced the motherboard for free (it was in warranty). The G73 one is going pretty solid.

Motorola g series is worse than one plus nord (especially nord 2 and 2 ond little drop sand display gone)series in my opinion

I bought Motorola One Power mobile in 2019 and its display broke after falling 3 feet onto the floor and when I went to the service center they asked 2k for display replacement and I paid.

Again in 2020 the same display broke after falling 5 feet onto the floor and the service center asked 2k again but I gave it to them and bought Samsung M31s which lasted me for 3 years until 2023. This display fell many times onto the floor but never broke.

Again I bought Realme 11 Pro+ in 2023 which I am using presently and this display also never broke even if it fell several times onto the floor.

Motorola quality is shit and never buy them.

With the comments here, why am I getting the feedback that Samsung phones maybe sub far on specs but otherwise last longer? My own test set is small (2 Samsung phones at home - 1 low end, 1 high end) and while the low end phone is slow (it is expected at that price) it generally doesn’t cause problems. My s23 also I think may have hanged onged only one in the last 2.5 odd years.

My daughter threws my wife’s moto and screen got shattered - but I’m wary of getting a new moto again.

depends on the angle hit, we have pretty much used moto exclusively for the past decade and only now have shifted to other OEMs and for us, durability, service or anything in between was never an issue.

As for screen shattering, it all depend on the angle and the force applied, some phone may survive a 12foot drop if they hit at a good angle (mine has) and some might get cracked falling from a bedside table.

My moto g4 still works really. In this economy buying a budget phone is only lasting for less than an year and buying a high phone is a huge leap but atleast they last a little longer atleast.

I never had bad experience with samsung and mi/redmi/poco

I might just be lucky to have never seen a green line on display. Owned Vivo, Le-Eco, Redmi K20 Pro, iPhone 12 (so many people complained Green line when there was major iOS updates) & currently iPhone 16 Pro.

I had a mi 2 when I was in college. It was cheap but I had to clear apps every 10 mins :sob:

In that era samsung also sucked, i had one. It was pain to install custom rom
