Never buy Motorola. Unending nightmare

After countless visits to the service centre for the Moto E which I had bought on 2015, I absolutely steered clear of Motorola. No matter how enticing the features looked on paper, I vowed to never get another Moto again. Sad to see that the company still hasn’t changed after 10 years.

And ladies and gentlemen that is why you buy an Apple :red_apple:. Even 5 year old Apple runs smooth like new

Have a 4. 6 year old Motorola G60 and over 5.3 years Moto Fusion + that is running smooth like new. Only with age now battery back up has gone down and it needs a replacement.

Spent fraction of a cost compared to Apple and it worked flawlessly all these years. The quality and phones Motorola produced earlier was amazing. Unfortunately it’s no longer the same.

5 year old cheap m30s running fine.updates have stopped ofc, but new mobiles have 6y updates now. I upgraded only for 5g.

Mobile world is pretty stupid. PCs can run smoothly for much longer too, and have open ecosystem for both hw and sw, so i can install other updated os if needed. Unfortunately, this did not happen in mobiles (atleast not easily) and even laptops to some extent have hardware locked down.

Jabardasti ewaste gets created for quarterly profits and shareholders. Basic stuff gets sold as a feature by having a monopoly within the product.

I am pretty sure i will never buy Apple product in my life again . Have only bought shuffle in past . It was nice but it pissed me off that i couldn’t use it without bloated itunes. Eventually found a python script ..

Don’t like company and closed systems.

Even the parts are not available for smartphone released in past 3 year in service center.

Guys need help,my sister bought a moto edge 60 fusion for her daughter within 10 days the front camera has just stopped working, seems like a major hardware failure. What do i do? Is a replacement possible? Anyone have ever been successful against moto lora?

It was bought from Flipkart

Earlier i was a devoted customer of Motorola, but as of now switched to one plus

there customer care is pathetic

If there are motherboard faults a simple fix won’t do. Just listening to the erratic symptoms tells you it’s a motherboard problem.

What’s not clear is whether these are factory assembly issues. Poorer methods and parts due to cost cutting which then results in poorer durability and a phone packing up after three years.

I’ll have to assume the phone was encased and not otherwise abused.

My phones have been Korean for the last decade and I’ve never had these problems. They do cost more as I’m not one to dip below 30k for phones. I don’t baby my phones either. They are frequently dropped from heights varying from one to three feet. Always encased.

As opposed to a replacement cost, yes. I would always advocate fixing first

Costs more than getting it fixed ie. replacement cost

This is the reason people don’t get stuff fixed. Because it’s a gamble. Though in this country I still think it’s worth it.

Clearly there’s a difference between some Chinese companies.

Bingo! Hence the not less than 30k floor I set

I bought my parents the moto g34 and in about 1 and a 1/2 year the mother board burnt out, the software is also glitchy, would not recommend anyone buying their devices.

My Motorola Edge 30 Ultra lasted me rock solid for 2.5 years, before I passed it down to my mum after I bought an S25.

I guess their lower-end stuff have severe QC issues.

Unlike the glorious OG Google-owned Moto G

fellow edge 30 series owner here, sourcing parts for them is almost impossible, I have asked around in all the nearby cities’s service center and none of them even have a battery in stock for an Edge 30 fusion, forget stuff like the back glass.

The newer edge 50/60 models also have severe QC issues and their software has gone downhill, bugs introduced by software updates aren’t fixed at all, and their update speed hasn’t increased at all, in the past they made up for it with rock solid stable updates but it’s no longer the case now

I was under the influence that Motorola phones were good
Really liked their UI and cameras also they have also packed good power.
Also Motorola was one of the only brands who used to do the curved edge well in the budget range.

they still are if you are aware of the shortcomings and are fine with it, dont get me wrong, but the issues I highlighted are real and probably because of their shift in focus to budget, low mid-range segment.

And tbh, most phone in those segments have had some kind of deal breakers or other, so its upto you to decide which cons you are fine with

Using vivo t3x… Super mobile… Very very little bloatware easily cleaned

Battery is perfectly
Camera is good
Build quality great

QC issues for even a 25k phone isn’t something someone could be fine with in my opinion.
Also the parts availability!

Their is a quality control issue and literally no response from customer service even after sending a legal notice, thats how bad moto is

What a joke. And you wonder how his parents of all people could manage to kill the motherboard in just over a year. Definitely manufacturing isn’t upto par at this price point.

But this is where the bulk of the demand is so they make stuff to meet those price points

I have always bought ~20k -15k or lower. Mobiles are toyish to me and i dont seen any reason to spend more. All i need in addition to calls is audio/vid and some camera/browsing.

I get no problem. M30s runnning for 5-6 years. Issues generally have been my fault and easily repaired for cheap in a good local mobile shop. Now running it as backup, but its still very usable to me, only doesnt have 5g.

Problem is not price point, but bad product/service. Post covid, i think many companies started making shittier stuff too.

Moto can be trusted only for their entry level segment, as the mobile gets premium, their OS update policy and support are horrible. Had a very bad experience with the Edge 60 pro and stopped buying Moto.
