Off topic but help needed - Reddit filtering my posts

Hi,

This is quite off-topic but I hope someone can help. Reddit is one of the biggest forums on Internet and I am also a user on it.

I don’t know why but on some subreddits like r/Mumbai r/Guitar etc my new post is immediately removed by filter without giving any explanation. I am clueless why it happens. I of course tried sending queries to mods but none responded.

My karma on that site is about 650. And I am ranked 25% top contributor. But still some sub-reddits filter me.

Does anyone have any experience or any help please? Strangely there’s nothing objectionable in my post. Mostly it’s seeking some general info or suggestions.

This AI based bot filtering is increasing day by day and I notice that genuine original posts get filtered. I also told mods that I am behind CGNAT so I don’t control my IP and there could be a number of users on same IP which is beyond my control.

Thanks in advance.

Some reddit communities have hidden thresholds that completely ignore your site-wide stats.

You’ll need a certain comment karma in that subreddit, certain account age, certain recent activity within that subreddit and some even put limits on how many posts you can make. Some even ban if you have a history of posting without commenting or interacting in the comments.

Basically you need to interact more, get your comments upvoted more before you can “safely” post in a subreddit. Could take anywhere between five days to a month for each subreddit.

I kind of lost my love for reddit when a random user in r/AMD got into a flame war with me when I didn’t immediate agree that the Intel CEO’s firstborn needed to be sacrificed.

The reddit hive mind is toxic.

You prefer Intel CEO’s secondborn to be sacrificed ?

Jokes aside, I completely agree with you. Reddit’s karma system is inherently flawed, on top of that most of subreddits are run with agenda, politics in mind(Doesn’t matter if it is right or left, both seems to only want echo chamber instead of actual discussion).

Toxicity is also off the charts there.

I wouldn’t say I loved it but I uninstalled the app about a month ago when it didn’t register my visit or broke the year long streak. I was on the way to be a basement dweller.

It made me realise how much time I spent there. Now, I just play anonymous games on Lichess when I am bored.

Reddit karma is a numerical score representing a user’s reputation and contributions, earned when posts or comments receive upvotes and lost via downvotes.
In short a trust metrics, by reddit.

Some subs, require minimum karma and age to post and some are hidden if that threshold is not reached.
Mumbai sub is becoming a shit, you can easily understand by nonsense posts people discuss more there, they are targeting school/college lads who have ample of time to spend..

Mumbai sub, lost its charm and meaningful posts are hardly discussed or answered.
Mod Mail is of no use on Mumbai.. I read r/india (they have very bad reputation across Indian users) has taken over r/Mumbai too..

Probably, you will find more helpful/meaningful answers on TE when you post a query related to Mumbai.. (at-least my experience not wrong here)

Reddit is also very good/aggressive in removing comments/alt accs from posting in subs where user was previously banned for whatever reason.

It’s a hive mind forum with lot of toxic people with hidden agendas, did you check whether you are shadow banned ?

Hi,

How to check that I am shadow banned?

I was banned for 14 days in steam sub-reddit for humorously asking for free steam points.

Check here: https://www.reddit.com/r/ShadowBan/new/

Am not a user on reddit

Shadowban is when your posts are only visible when you are logged into that acc but not outside of that acc.

I think I hv understood the matter. after lot of searching i finally understood that reddit seem to have a Ai based score for each user known as https://www.reddit.com/r/WhatIsMyCQS/ in my case it’s low. it’s just fixed setting very low, low, moderate, high etc

many subreddits don’t allow users with low CQS to post anything. That’s the end. ai is pathetic actually but it is the new normal going forward. since i don’t frequently visit and post it may remain low forever.

Don’t worry, very few years back I had ~3 lakhs points plus few awards. Effers perma-banned for a sentence with less than 8 words, which was a topic already all over internet. They are a hivemind of primarily USA and western toxic liberalism and war propaganda.
It’s okay forum for finding technical or esoteric subjects though.

I agree..these international forums are not that user friendly and they do not simply appreciate differences of opinions and customs across the geography. They might be even tracking IP addresses. My only intention was to participate and share my thoughts.
