One of the reasons of posting this in other thread was how dog owners should be held accountable for dangers done by their dogs.
This one was an extreme example (it looks like this moron wanted to sadistically threaten that poor child, but lost control of his dog), there are many other cases.
Whoever created the narrative of protecting dogs above human lives have blood on their hands, reminding of one (in)famous past minister’s reckless influence in this.

I think it was in Pune this year infant was killed by pet dog. Cctv footage very despairing to watch
I remember seeing one Security guard child was killed by dogs in a video.
Maybe that is what you also talking about.
Pitbul are truly dangerous. I have came across multiple cases online where a pitbul always ends up mauling a baby to death.. no matter how cute you thing those pitbulls are, at the end of the day they are just as bad as a wild animal..

As someone who has been attacked multiple times by stray dogs in my childhood I’m absolutely terrified sometimes
Someone in social media said that owners like these find it funny when their dog barks/bites someone
We need stricter pet ownership laws in India

The general answer is but he’s always so friendly or he never attacks.
There is exactly zero responsibility the moment they realise something bad happened.
Forget attacks, there seems to be no cooperation even if the dog creates a nuisance by barking. Something I’m quite surprised to discover happens there. Given how prevalent it is here and is almost always down to neglect.
It will be going beyond what exists in the west.
They still haven’t figured out how to handle this menace.
Self defence is allowed everywhere though.

I had a lady come and tell me the children shouldn’t celebrate Diwali because the stray dogs in the complex are disturbed.
The other concern is those owners / pet parents who do leash their pet / child outside.
This dog breed has killed infants and children in the US. The industry lobby works overtime to create a market. I can’t seem to find the news documentary that covers this nuisance.

His responsibility to put his dog on a leash. Quite basic. He should be charged with a crime for not able to control his dog. His negligence should not other’s burden and suffering at all.

It’s human who is responsible to put the leash and ensure that dog is within his control. Dog’s obviously can’t put a leash on themselves. If this man is not capable enough to control the dog, he does not deserve a dog, simple as that. Just because he is irresponsible moron is not a license for him to won a reckless dog which attack and injure strangers and children.
You does not, that is why it’s humans responsibility to be vigilant, not dog’s.
If owner can’t be vigilant, let him not own a dog, go to jail as punishment if his dog caused injuries.

This dog that saved the child looks like it belongs to them and not to a random neighbor. Dogs mostly protect their owners/family. I wonder if the same dog will intervene if it sees some other child getting attacked, can’t say for sure.
In that video, we are seeing both versions of dogs.
It’s too bad that the government doesn’t care much about the problem of dog attacks.

I was just saying if it wasn’t there the result could have been different. The owner would have caught up eventually but that child would have been bitten.
And for what. Nothing. The kid wasn’t running or doing anything to attract that dog

There must be some legal problem here.
Figure that out and you will know why its not so easy to do.
What if govt can bring 3 laws?
- Strict ban of sale of dogs/pets
- Get license for every pet you own and maybe even include the clause to neuter them
- Dog owner will be punished if dog attacks someone.
I’m guessing if these laws can be implemented, maybe a big change might happen.
As per stray dogs issue, that is another headache.
