It seems this game favors AMD cards more. 9070 xt getting more FPS than a 5080 at 1440p is nuts!

Game looks interesting, but damn is it expensive. 5500 Rs. for the regular edition, and 7500 Rs. for the premium edition on Steam. I’ll wait for a sale…

There’s also apparently some bugs with de-noising in reflections especially when hardware RT is enabled, which curiously enough is worst on DLSS. Here’s a snippet from the computerbase.de article (translated from German).

In general, the lumen reflections on highly reflective surfaces are problematic.

…

The chosen upsampling also has a great influence on this. DLSS 4 cannot cope with the noise, for example: FSR 3, XeSS and TSR significantly reduce this like the game’s own TAA edge smoothing, FSR 4 can even almost completely turn off the noise and thus achieves by far the best result

I do recall seeing similar noise issues with Everspace 2 + FSR4 on my 9070XT, which was fixed with eventual driver updates. I assume the eventual game ready driver from Nvidia will also address this.

Hardware RT seems like a waste in this game since the difference is barely noticeable

Obsidian Entertainment’s games have never been a looker. They always looked bland and uninspired, graphics wise.

The main reason why people play Obsidian’s games is because of the story, quests, content, voice acting, and humor (South Park, anybody?).

Outer worlds 1 looks fantastic. I just finished it few weeks back. Pretty colorful and art style works very well in HDR ( via renodx ). Sure its not going to be the best technically in every area, but i thought it looked great.

DLSS4 also really makes games look good with with very good motion clarity improvement vs 3. And textures just seem to look better.

The flickering with DLSS4 was there in outer worlds 1 too on grass ( DLSS via optiscaler ), looked quite ugly and i switched to DLSS3. But later, there was a new DLSS4 update and that mitigated most of it, enough to be usable.

RT is too costly to be worth it for most gpus. I much rather play at 90+fps, RT only if thats possible which isn’t for 3080+4k.

Agreed on all points. I recently was able to build a PC with a RTX 5070 Ti and outside of CP2077, RT felt underwhelming everywhere else. But DLSS is actually amazing, looks so much better after using XeSS/FSR for years.
