I will nitpick H again as it is my level. But Herald is a verb in most cases and absolutely doesn’t fit in the list. Even otherwise, as a noun, it is again a synonym for Forerunner and Harbinger which were suggested before.
Herald is also a [noun](’
). “A herald, or a herald of arms, is an officer of arms, ranking between pursuivant and king of arms. The title is commonly applied more broadly to all officers of arms.”
I know, I updated my post. It hasn’t been in use as a noun for ages. Also, my point still stands that synonyms do nothing in terms of levels, when you consider it as a verb.
Helmsman/Harbinger/Herald. I like Helmsman but it is not gender neutral.
PS: if you don’t like the title you are on, there is an easy way to change that ![]()
Ah yes, just 309 more posts to change it. Easier to convince you. ![]()
Enclave plus is glorified rename of patron
Even if you would have kept Car brands for all the ranks I’m sure people would have came up with suggestions esp. for M.
M= Maruti and then people would have pushed to change it to Mercedes or Maserati or mazda etc.
Anyone got demoted? I was Forerunner a day ago, and now a Discoverer.
Soon it will be Toyota Fortuner or Range rover discovery!
Damn dude, 12 years on the forum with less than 60 posts.
All posts from
https://techenclave.com/forums/looking-to-buy.106/
are now excluded from the post count. It was a miss earlier.
For me, that by itself is quite respectable heh (given they had the time to interact and visit the forum regularly or semi-regularly)
I used to be a lurker on Reddit, only interacting in very specific spaces, but this place just makes me want to talk and post, lol. At least when I have the time to reply, anyway.
I have respect for anyone who manages to visit and lurk here but not interact!
Waah bhai the perseverance lol. 20 years. Hope your family’s not mad about it lol.
I’m at Herald without reaching 1000 posts — I’m guessing when you add up all my merged posts, it’s over a 1000?
Ah I was wondering if anyone will notice. Have tweaked the following a bit.
Explorer - Delving deeper into uncharted territory - Requires 75 posts, 35 likes
Forerunner - Leading the way with curiosity and courage - Requires 150 posts, 75 likes
Guide - Acquiring foundational knowledge - Requires 400 posts, 200 likes
Herald - Guiding and inspiring new directions - Requires 800 posts, 400 likes
You have the numbers, but I suppose around 5-10% of the user base should at least be in the second half of the ladder (N onwards), as otherwise it makes no sense if most of the users are at a very low level and you have the higher levels empty for years to come.
The higher levels should be relatively attainable based on average post count and can be adjusted later if it becomes more populated. At the end of the day, don’t think it is particularly enticing if you need several months to move up a level based on average posts per user per day.
You might want the post count to jump 2x every month over here but that is not going to happen.
I would say its OK if there are no users in the last 1/3rd of the ladder for some time but you do have a fair point. Will think it over.
Maybe add a weightage classification for those ranks like either X/current no. of posts required or Y no. of posts in core tech sections (pc hardware/mobile etc) + Z no. of posts in all other sections & make Y more attainable based on typical activity in those sections.
A good thought but almost impossible to implement on the current software coz it requires custom development.
