Used RAM prices

Being lazy is bad… Naah… I found my 2tb SATA SSD which I totally forgot for 2.5yrs Now gave it for RMA hoping to get a new one

P.S. Lets hope I don’t forget inquire as its already close to a week

If you are getting 64gb (32x2) kit at a decent price pls include me as well. I wanted to upgrade ram in my system but no way am i paying 40k for it

problem is they are refunding the bill amount while prices have shot up 5x

Check DM , those kits have long wait time.

I don’t mind waiting. Already running 3600 cl18 kit ( stable at cl16 but not worth risking the ram )

64GB for 24.5K with bill warranty etc. Is this site legit ?

Just google vlebazaar scam and enjoy  I would be surprised if you even get DDR2/3 RAM

Haha, do not go there!

Ah…. Need to check their policies and if it doesn’t mention refunding the same amount you can probably deny it and ask for same or similar product, then go consumer court route when they deny that.

I’m waiting for this situation to go even crazier so that I can get rich by selling my 8gb ddr3 ram stick and buy a farmhouse in Bangalore.

Just buy a few sticks and find out, bro. If it turns out to be true then you will become the messiah. If not then well, “Bhai ke liye itna bhi nhi kr skta”.

Has anyone tried using server ddr4 ram ( registered ecc dimms) on normal / desktop motherboards ( MSI am4 board /x570 chipset)

Does it work? Googling gave conflicting information. Msi site says ecc ram can be used but ecc will be disabled but doesn’t mention anything about rdimm

@aasimenator surely knows / can test this out at his end?

I too have this question. @rsaeon can answer maybe, he is sitting on a ton of ddr4 ram :face_with_tongue:

lots of debt but it’s okay, my cibil isn’t horrible

(still, don’t be like me, I am not a role model)

Ryzen has unvalidated support for ECC UDIMMs, Ryzen PRO has validated support. The newer APUs (8000) dropped support.

But the cheap ECC memory we see are registered dimms, RDIMMS, not UDIMMS. For that you need Threadripper or EPYC (how epic is that name, I can’t get over it)

You’ll also need motherboard support for those ECC UDIMMs, like a Asus WS series or Asrock Rack.

Do rdimms and udimms have same physical keying? Reason I am asking is my motherboard manual says i can use ecc ram but ecc will be disabled. Not sure if ecc ram is available in udimm or only rdimm and whether both udimm rdimm are the same physically.

No, they have different notching for both DDR4 and DDR5.

It’s always been that ECC UDIMMs were more expensive than RDIMMs, presumably because of the lower demand for them.

You’d want ECC UDIMMs in workloads that benefit from the single core performance of a desktop processor, because server grade processors often are less performant.

But that hasn’t been true since Ryzen 5000 and onwards.
