What should I buy from Germany / EU?

There was post in this thread which mentioned about knife brands but i can’t find if now

My Mammut fleece. Superb quality good warmth. Very hard to find these in India.

So go for it if you find a good deal.
At full price also it is not bad purchase but just that they can end up being very expensive. Specially in climate like India you would be only using for a short winter.

if you’re into the idea of a homelab (home server for media, storage, etc), consider buying a used mini pc there. they’re super cheap compared to india, because businesses get rid of them in the EU all the time. i used my pc as a homelab for some time, and it always made it convenient for everyone to stream movies/series on the tv whenever they wanted.

Hi, I have looked around in Aachen, Frankfurt and Cologne, but Mammut is not on sale anywhere. And the retail prices are way beyond my budget. But, my stay has extended for 1 more month so will try to find some deals.
For electronics, unfortunately most of the items are available at a better price in India. My friend did buy some networking items from Amazon.de like SFP+ modules, GL.iNet Travel Routers and some Creality Printer Upgrades which are available at half price compared to India.
I also have my eyes on some Lamy Fountain Pens which are again almost 40% off compared to Indian prices.

I do occasionally find some decent Thinkpad deals on ebay or Kleinanzeigen but they’re all QWERTZ layouts and if I factor in the keyboard change cost then the deal no longer makes sense.

Have also been advised to shop offline and ask for the Tax Free Form (Ausfuhrbescheinigung) from retailers so that I can claim around 14% VAT refund at customs.

tell me about it.
Btw dont just look for those in Germany…try to look all over European online websites and they deliver to Germany at very reasonable price and if I think there is no tax either within Europe order.

I did order Nintendo games from Amazon Uk to Switzerland when i was there. no tax . within 4 days delivery .

also Mamut is just one of the top brands in Europe . there are others too which offer great stuffs too like Jack Wolfskin, Montane, Fjallraven , Rab etc

Jisme discount mile utha lo…One for yourself and one for me. ( size puch lena)

@adityasingh you can also look for high end base layers( thermal) from either under Armour (synthetic) or merino wool ( icebreaker, bryje thermomeshwool, smartwool, woolpower)

I have worn some of these base layernin extreme cold conditions and they perform very well.

You can consider them incase you wish to go for some winter trips in future.

Smartwool has amazing quality merino wool socks which people going for Mt.Everest expeditions wear it.

So you have a good chance to buy them there.

In India they are almost impossible to get and there is no much market for them.

Don’t forget the Victorinox brand if you visiting Germany. My uncle used to do many knifes from this brand.

My uncle studied his mtech and worked in Sulzer in Germany. So he has so many items from Germany.

Victorinox has swiss army knifes, watches and bags as well.

very good suggestion. I have good collection of Vitorinox Brand swiss army knife.

I have manage to cut fish with it ( small knife) .Yes it was that good even after many years of usage. It still holds but there is a way to handle it otherwise you can damage it.

it was taught to me by Victronix people themselves . When i went to claim warranty.
If wish to know more and buying…DM me. I will explain.

but I completely agree with @bssunilreddy suggestion. Must buy .

Oh and you can even ask them to engrave your name also maybe for free( or I think they charge me 2 swiss franc iirc)

Will look for these, thanks a lot for the suggestions.

Since it is being reported that DDR5 prices are stabilising in Germany and Japan, know any good German retailer to buy RAM from ? Have upcoming visit to Berlin in March, might pick up some if I get a decent price/deal.

I heard alcohol is cheap there

Looks ugly to be honest

Don’t forget Birkenstock footwear…especially their sandals… their build quality is unlike any other brand and Germans are obsessed with them…

Firstly it has seen good use over the time so but worn out.

Secondly these are not about fashion anyways. They are serious gear worn in tough environments.

For fashion outwear you buy
The North Face as they target casual people also …they are decent with quality but great in looks.

The Mammut and all are mostly about quality.

They do have some nice looking also but again very few. They mostly target serious outdoor people.

Hey Aditya, can you help me import a UniFi Dream Router 7 from EU or Germany?

Any idea about this folks? @solo_wing any help here mate?

No idea bro about Ram and all.
Can only help with outdoor gear and little bit of electronics.

Not computer parts…usse mein nalla hu.

buy any electronics in used market

Any reference for it or just go by Google ?
