Which free torrent client is best for windows 11?

Qbittorrent is considered the best. Motrix if you want a client that combines Direct Downloads functionality as well. Both are open source iirc.

Qbittorrent is not recognised by Windows says not safe to use & Motrix is taking ages all of sudden to download. I don’t know why?

Qbittorrent is 100% safe to use. I mean you can check out its code and all. It’s just Microsoft Defender throwing its usual tantrums.

Not sure about Motrix’ speed issue. I don’t use it, I use Jdownloader instead.

Fdm free download manager can download torrents

Have been using Tixati for several years now. It is open source, no spyware and no ads.

Have been using Adblock plus after chrome disabled Ublock origin. Working good as of now.

It’s a great alternative to Qbittorrent but I don’t think Tixati is open source, unless their code went public since I last used it.

I am using Qbittorrent and Adblock Plus for Chrome. Also using YT Adblocker as well.

That’s a false positive against Qbittorrent - try latest updated Win11 and latest release of Qbit.

been using Transmission for few years now both on Windows & Mac

That is a general warning displayed by Defender when a software has been scanned on very few Windows installations. For example, you will not see the message if you install an older version. It happens with every new version.

Default is Qbittorrent for Windows and Transmission for Mac, a lot of it due to their remote administration abilities.

Another vote from my side for Qbittorrent. The Windows I loved is soon dying, being replaced by a bloated mess of an adware OS. The internet general too has become unusable without scripts, filters, and adblockers!

This warning is what I get while installing Qbittorrent for Windows.

Anyways I installed the latest one from Qbittorrent website. Should I change the option to add an exception or allow a program through the firewall via selecting my torrent client(Qbittorrent) or it will automatically do the change in the firewall?
Since this is giving me a warning because it is flagged by Defender.

Click on run anyway, and it will be fine!

Okay. I already did it but should I put an exception to it in my firewall settings or will it do it automatically by itself?

Nothing else is needed. It should work fine.

Thanks.

On Windows, if I really need to, then I use [Aria2](’

https://aria2.github.io/’

) along with this [html file for UI](’

). But most of the times, downloads are offloaded to the Downloader of my Synology Router.

Now that you have Qbittorrent installed, take some time to browse some of the community created themes and pick one because the default ones are atrocious IMO.

I personally use [Dracula](’

GitHub - dracula/qbittorrent: 🧛🏻‍♂️ Dark theme for QBittorrent’

) (Dark). Another good one is [Fluent](’

GitHub - witalihirsch/qBitTorrent-fluent-theme: Fluent theme for qBitTorrent’

) (MicaforEveryone, Dark) for Win 11.
