Which Phone in Sept Sale? (60k, Long-Term, Great Cameras and design)

Hey folks,

I’m planning to buy a phone during the upcoming Amazon/Flipkart sale (Sept 2025) for my brother, and I need some help deciding. My priorities are:

  1. Reliability & after-sales support (phone should last at least 4 years if I’m spending this much)

  2. Camera quality (must be very good – big priority)

  3. Design/build

  4. Performance

Budget: ₹60k max (can stretch a little if absolutely worth it, but ideally under).

Here are the options I’m considering (sale prices):

  • OnePlus 13 → ~₹53k

  • Google Pixel 9 → ~₹38k

  • Samsung Galaxy S24 (Snapdragon 8 Gen 3) → ~₹38k

  • Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra → ~₹65k (worth stretching?)

  • Google Pixel 10 → ~₹67k (again, worth stretching?)

  • OnePlus 13s → maybe ~₹46k? Not sure on the exact pricing.

What I want is a solid all-rounder that doesn’t compromise much – ideally something with great cameras, design, reliable updates, and good service support in India. I don’t want to overspend if ₹60k is already too much for what I need, but I also don’t want regrets 2–3 years down the line.

Questions:

  • Which of these would you recommend for my use case?

  • Is the S24 Ultra or Pixel 10 really worth going above budget?

  • Between Pixel 9 @ 38k and S24 @ 38k, which is better value long-term?

TL;DR: Budget 60k max. Priorities = reliability > camera > design > performance. Considering OP13, Pixel 9/10, S24, S24 Ultra, OP13s. Want a phone that lasts 4+ years with great cameras. Which one would you pick?

If you don’t mind the size then s24 Ultra is a no brainer below 70k.

I see no iphone .

iPhone have the best longevity. It will easily last 4+ years.

i have heard 24u’s camera are not very good in low light and stuff.
also is it worth increasing the budget by 10k+ for the ultra ?

nice to see you again @john1911 : )

i dont think my brother will like iphone, given how restrictive they are, he uses modded insta and revanced.

Among these phones s24U has the largest sensor. Although oneplus has the widest aperture at 1.6, and s24u at 1.7. This should basically give better night light photography.

I have used my cousins S24U during a holiday trip.
Was very impressed with its photo and videos and zoom was also fantastic.

I was at one time even thinking of replacing my action camera to S24U as main shooting camera.

its very tempting……getting the s24u, lets see if the budget permits, if could, would just buy it.

also how are things with greenline and stuff ? i have heard samsung phones are prone to green lines right after their warranty.

@solo_wing

whats the next best ?

I dont know. I have only used that phone so I could say for sure it truly is impressive.
I even mentioned about it last year also about how beautiful the pics were.
Here are some sample pics from S24U

Every year with the prices of chinese phones, who got here by stealing IPs.. positioning their offerings as an iphone or samsung competitor, while also spying for CCP.. The iphone becomes a value proposition.

Bold claims. Apple also steals your data btw but that’s somehow okay for some people. There’s been more leaks coming from icloud than chinese branded phones.

On the contrary, the restrictions you’re bound to with apple devices boggles my mind. I have been using Android since eclair. Started using ipad since 6 months and the restrictions, ads, etc is frustrating.

If only Apple can its phones affordable. I mean they can make budget iphones and flagships also priced in different price categories.

In 2019 I bought a Samsung M series and in 2023 I bought a Realme because Samsung is till offering stupid cpus and storage specs for the same price where Realme & Oneplus Nord phones are priced. So I went with Realme.

We indians have a lot of choice nowadays but not from chinese, american, finnish or korean companies but among cheap chinese brands.

Even though Home Ministry knows about CCP spying on everybody using their processors or software they arent pushing for more competition and variety in SOCs given by above specified brands.

How did you come up with the pricing of pixel 9 and s24 ultra?

Flipkart banner advertises pixel 9 for 35k (including card discounts), amazon’s banner is 72k without card discounts

35k is also including exchange bonus.. Its 36k otherwise..

yes…it is, but pretty much the same price

yes, so i was kind of hoping that, 10% discount will work out, closer it is to 60k the better honestly, wishful thinking.

The samsung price S24 , it it flat or actual below 40k or for special card in special ritual we have to do to get those offer ?

Also anything for S25 ?

10% discount doesn’t work like that sir.. There is usually a cap to it. Mostly 1.5/2k. But yeah, you can hope for a card discount..

It is almost always including a card discount unless explicitly mentioned (Like iPhone 16 deal for 52k, it s excluding card discount. With card offers, it is 49k something). Arrange a card in advance if you don’t have one already.

Latest models hardly see any price drop. Brands don’t prefer to sell their “Premium” devices on a discount (Unless you are nothing and have to drop the price in order to sell any units :stuck_out_tongue: )

If camera is a big priority then iPhone it is. Samsungs are the most unreliable cameras out there. Pixel is fine wrt camera, but modem issues, battery isn’t that great either but still acceptable.
