do u think 6870 be enough?

The resolution you play does not require 6870.

You can easily take up a card like AMD 5670 1 GB - Rs 5800 and a new PSU as well. FSP Saga 400 - 2-2.5 K I guess.

A review might help you sort out - AnandTech Forums: Technology, Hardware, Software, and Deals

the resolution at which u r gaming a 5770 is more than enough…

and since you have that budget u can look for the 460’s which are on sale…

But change the PSU…stock PSU are dangerous things…

GTX 460 is too much of an overkill !

—Typo—

If you want to play the most intensive games like Crysis or Metro 2033 or some intensive upcoming games of the near future, especially with AA (and often without AA) you will need a 6850 or above even at that resolution. Though even your CPU isn’t the best, but just okay.

I would go with the 6850 if I were you, the 6870 isn’t worth it due to the extra price esp at your rez and with your CPU.

6870 for someone who’s playing 1366 x 768 ? Really ?

Try playing Crysis at that resolution at V High everything even without AA, and with an aim of getting at least 60 FPS.

Even his setup won’t fare that well even with a 6870.

I recommend him a 6850 because his CPU and resolution won’t be benefited by the additional power of the 6870.

Sapphire HD 5770 1GB GDDR5 ~ 7.8k

Corsair CX400 ~ 2.7k

Total: 10.5k. This is what i would suggest in your budget.

So you’re saying he wont be able to play Crysis @ 60 FPS in 1366 x 768 and the reason why you suggest him 6870 ?

Have you read some review on the 6870 and what that thing is capable of ? If you cared to read the review on my first post. 5670 is clearly driving Crysis at 45 FPS. I don’t want to be rude bro but you’re post is complete bs.

Let him buy what he needs and not what he wants.

AMD’s Radeon HD 5670: Sub-$100 DirectX 11 Starts Today - AnandTech :: Your Source for Hardware Analysis and News

and this isn’t max quality, for max quality, the FPS will go down by another 30%.

Every review of 5670 over the internet. First post by me in this thread .

It shows around 12 FPS at the given settings.

Even at the settings in question, it will be bw 15-20 FPS at most.

I am talking of 60 FPS.

Even the fastest card in your review just about crosses 60 FPS at 1300 rez, or amongst the fastest just touch the 60 FPS mark at 1300.

Charts, benchmarks Gaming Graphics Charts 2008-Q3, Crysis v1.21

So now you’re backing up your statement that OP should buy 6870 while he games at 1366 x 768 . 5770 is like complete sweet spot but a little OK , 5670 is like something that can drive everything except crysis @ 60 FPS which is totally unnecessary.

Why do keep insisting on 60 FPS? let alone on Crysis. I’d be happy with 45 FPS avg.

I can’t believe how you could suggest a 6870 for a 1366 x 768 reso and you constantly keep saying you’re right .

@hash

you are nothing but a fanboy…

6870 fails to deliver 60fps even at 1280*1024 at 2AA..

Link

so, keeping the future in mind he should buy a 5770 or a 460 ( since he is getting at a similar price of a 5770)

and before talking bs about 5670 ( donno i think it came in your dream ) plz provide a valid link to backup your comments

HD 5670…GIVING 17.9FPS @ 1280*1024…LOL!!!

+1 WITH DARK ANGEL

Even for 45 FPS you would need a 6850 or above.

And don’t you dare write a post without supporting evidence.

Both dragon and me have pwned you big time with evidence and even with your own evidence.

Post if you want, but show some heavy evidence with that!

And there are other games, like Metro 2033, Stalker ( one particular version of that), GTA IV etc. And many more will come in 2011.

So if you want to stay in your own secluded world, don’t misguide others!

You’re quite right about the 5770! But very wrong about the 6870. The aim here is not getting 60 FPS in crysis. It’s playable Frame rates 45 FPS avg on all games.

Do you want to join along with your friend here and suggest a 6870 for the OP ?

BTW, you better don’t call me a fanboy

@ rite
Therefore, you think he should buy a card that is priced almost twice of what people are recommending just so he can play one game (fine, two if you count Metro) @ 60fps ??

RIP your LOGIC

EDIT-
I’m playing almost every game at 1440*900 High and getting 45fps+ on my old 8800GT and I’m more than satisfied. Why on earth would you want this guy to over spend just to touch 60 ?

And this is how it will be until more powerful consoles come out. Most games nowadays are built for consoles and then PC, hence the graphic demand on graphics card won’t slowly increase as much as it did in the past.

i will be upgrading my processor to an i5-760 maybe around in 5 months time… and then go for a monitor upgrade

^ +1 with rite

he wants to play high end games.. ( gta4 , crysis etc )

i know 5670 is a good card but it wont curve his hunger..

@shankar : For GTA4 i will suggest a 1GB card…the games depends upon the vram also…

and @hash plz read my posts first …i never suggested a 6870 for him…

read first and then post…

@shankar

if u r going for a monitor upgrade later on ..may be a full hd one..

buy a 2nd hand 5870 ..which ar up for sale…

If you are going to upgrade your CPU/Monitor, then buy the best graphic card you can afford, at least a 6850/6950.

At full hd 4x AA, there are many games where you can use these cards.

And many games of 2011 will require 20-30% more processing power than the most intensive games till now!
