Working with Inverter/UPS Lead Acid Batteries

Yeah, it’s been pretty brutal on the batteries, but it worked okay.

The inverter charges at around 20A, and discharges at 25A for a 1kW load. Those tiny 26Ah batteries are almost used up, they now hold a charge for 10 mins at 1kW vs 30mins when I first got them.

It was a bandaid solution for around 6k, probably time for a better solution.

Solar is a dream of mine, just waiting to get rich haha.

The panels are not much .. cost around 7-15k . You can use the panels for charging . A couple of them would be enough unless you are thinking of running the whole household only on solar power .

I have similar setups in Africa where the power goes off for a week . So the solar panels help me with powering the tiny pc , laptop and of course charging phones for myself and most of them in the street . I have a switchbox connected to the inverter outside the compound wall to enable people to charge .
